I just launched a site, and we just started receiving memberships. That's great, except I thought I had this s2Member thing working and apparently I don't! Here's what we get:

New User Registration on your site:
roadguardians.org

User ID: %user_id%
Username: %user_login%
Email: %user_email%
IP Address: %user_ip%

and what the user gets:
Thanks %first_name%! Your membership has been approved.

If you haven't already done so, the next step is to Register a Username.

Complete your registration here:
%registration_url%

If you have any trouble, please feel free to contact us.

Best Regards,
roadguardians.org

Please help! We might upgrade to Pro, but I'd like to see that this works first. Thank you!

Andrea

If you want to configure the email try going to WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> New User Email Configuration set it to YES and then below configure it (in the same panel).

Hope this helps. :)
P.S. Remember to report back.

So your problem is that the email is not sent like you configured it right? If so, did you click "Save all changes"?

Looks like this:
Dear Charter Road Guardian Member:

As we build a new community of safety minded motorcyclists reducing injuries and fatalities to motorcyclists is common ground that we can ALL stand on. Road Guardians is not single focused where it comes to motorcycle safety and we believe that we can always be Better Bikers! Thank you for becoming one of our Charter Road Guardian Members (only 1000 will be given this designation)!

Please allow 2 weeks for delivery of your membership package. In the meantime we would like to offer you free shipping on any RG product that we can ship with your membership.

Actually, I had gone in and added to the letter, hit save, and it's there, but none of the info between % signs is entered. For example, here's what comes to us for notification:

New User Registration on your site:
roadguardians.org

User ID: %user_id%
Username: %user_login%
Email: %user_email%
IP Address: %user_ip%

Thanks again for any help!

I have the same problem, but it only occurred for 2 out of 5 registrants. I just opened a separate thread - since it's not consistent.

You gotta use two %%signs%%.

Right, there should be two pound signs on each side of the replacement codes.

Code: Select all
User ID: %%user_id%%
Username: %%user_login%%
Email: %%user_email%%
IP Address: %%user_ip%%

This is related to a bug mentioned in the changelog entry for v110926:

(s2Member/s2Member Pro) Bug fix. A bug first introduced in s2Member v110912 was causing problems with s2Member's default email customization templates. Double percent signs %% for Replacement Codes were being reduced by s2Member's internationalization routines, to just single percent signs %, thereby nullifying them as valid Replacement Codes. Fixed in this release. If you installed s2Member and/or s2Member Pro v110912 - v110915 on a clean installation of WordPress®, it would be a good idea to have a quick look at your email customizations with s2Member, just to make sure your Replacement Codes have double percent signs around them ( for example, this is valid: %%registration_url%%, and this is NOT valid: %registration_url% ).

I hope this helps. :)
