s2member Will Not Install

I have read all the online recommendations for s2member and have decided to install on my WordPress site. For the last 2 hours, I have tried to install the plugin.

The message being shown on my WP dashboard is: "Unpacking the package…" That's it.

Is there a known problem?

It sounds like you're having a download issue. Try downloading it directly from the WordPress.org site, (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/s2member/). Then installing via FTP, as that is (as far as I've seen) the best, and least-painful method of uploading any plugin.

Eduan - your post was extremely helpful. My host (GoDaddy. UGH!) performed too slow. I uploaded via FTP (for my first time) using FileZilla.

I can't WAIT to set this up.
