MailChimp API Interest Groups vs. Lists

The best practice in MailChimp is to have a single list with multiple interest groups to segment your list. As such, I would like to suggest that you add the option to add the user to a list and (optionally) an interest group. That way we can have a single list with interest groups which reflect our subscription levels and/or custom capability packages.

I don't know what the plans are for the improvement of the MailChimp integration, really.

What I can suggest at this moment is to use s2Member's notification APIs to do more advanced stuff with them. WP Admin -> s2Member -> API / Notifications.

Interest Groups. Thanks for the great suggestion!
~ I'll see what we can do about this.

@TODO :: MailChimp® Interest Groups ( done )
configurable MERGE fields ( now possible, but requires a Filter ).

See this thread please, this version is available
for some s2Member Pro Customers only right now.
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2603

Relevant sections from the Changelog for s2Member v110524RC:
* **(s2Member/s2Member Pro). MailChimp® Interest Groups.** Ability to use Interest Groups with Mailchimp List IDs. For examples, please check your Dashboard under: `s2Member -> API List Servers -> MailChimp`.

* **(s2Member/s2Member Pro). MailChimp® / AWeber® improvements.** This release fixes several bugs related to Automatic Unsubscribes, general list removals, and introduces a new feature call Automatic List Transitions. For further details, please check your Dashboard under: `s2Member -> API List Servers`.

Custom MERGE fields are now possible using this Filter for WordPress:
ws_plugin__s2member_mailchimp_merge_array
* This will eventually be integrated into the UI panel, but it's not ready yet. For now, you'll have to use the Filter: ws_plugin__s2member_mailchimp_merge_array

Any progress with this?

This is critical unless you're using S2 in it's most basic format.

If you're using the custom capabilities assigned to products then you need to be able to tell MC which product they have just bought etc.
