Hi,

I have created custom profile fields in s2 member and selected all 3 options to integrate with BuddyPress. However, when I go to BP Profile Fields, it does not recognise any of the new custom fields created in s2.

This is the first step but, after that, I want to use BP xProfiles ACL plug-in and BP - Profile Manager plug-in to control which field groups are required (depending on member level) and also which field groups can be seen and searched by other members.

Can you help please?

What versions of s2Member and BuddyPress are you using?

No problem. I'm assuming BuddyPress is 1.5, is that right?

Could you show me a screenshot of the custom fields you created. WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> Registration/Profile

Can I also see the profile and registration pages?

Actually, it's BP version 1.5.1 if that makes a difference?

I attach the screenshots you asked for:

- s2 member custom profiles: the groups and fields I have created

- BP Profile Fields: where these do not appear (the detailed info tab is one I created in BP PF, not s2)

- Example profile field which does show all the custom groups and fields created in s2

- Registration page set up - I have not completed this page yet (which might be part of the problem?)

- BP xProfiles which I'd like to use to control which member levels needs to complete which groups of custom fields. At the moment, only fields created in BP (not s2) are visible here.

- BP Profile Manager which I'd like to use to control what members can see of other members' profiles, depending on their level

Ah, I now understand what you meant. That's correct, those fields aren't BuddyPress', they're s2Member's and stored where s2Member stores them, BuddyPress won't show them there.

The integration seems to be working fine, though, with the s2Member custom fields showing in the BuddyPress profile page, right?

Yes, that makes sense. So, if I want the other plug-ins (BP xProfiles & BP Profile Manager) to "see" the s2 member profiles, I probably need to go into the respective plug-in files and change the file source from the default BuddyPress file to the relevant s2 file, right?

Hmm... Well, you don't need another plugin to decide what level to show each custom field, you can already specify that when creating the custom field in s2Member using the Applicable Membership Levels parameter. WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> Registration/Profile -> Add/Edit Field -> Applicable Membership Levels

To let users see or not certain fields depending on their level, I'd use advanced conditionals in the BuddyPress profile page that is show to other users. http://www.s2member.com/advanced-conditionals-video/
