Registration Email Link says "Your Link Expired:"

Postby MMiBlair » January 12th, 2011, 5:15 pm

I'm running s2Member 3.3.2 with WP 3.0.4 (not Multisite)

Each time a person registers, they get an email with a Tinyurl link. when they press it it goes to a page that says "Your Link Expired:Please contact Support if you need assistance." then redirects them to the Registration page. This is immediately after they sign up not a few days later.

Its throwing off people and causing some confusion. Any help would be great. thanks!

That's because TinyURLs expire after a while. You could disable URL shrinking, but that would cause long URLs to be sent that may break the way several email services display it.

Hello all!

Similar problem here. The email contains a link like:
http://tinyurl.com/as94d63#www.example.com (the code is 7 chars)

And when it's clicked, it opens:
http://www.example.com/?s2member_regist ... E.....Tsaw (the code is 307 chars in total)

Which shows:
Your Link Expired:
Please contact Support if you need assistance.

What could be the problem here? The account was paid on 20th December and the link failed on 27th December already. But it looks to me that tinyurl.com is redirecting to the right URL, it says it's expired on our site only. Do these registration links on our site expire in s2Member? If so, after how long?

Perhaps the buyer already used that link for registration by accident. I'll find out. In the mean time, please share your opinions.

Thanks,
Martin

Well, TinyURL sometimes has problems... You could use another URL shortening service, though. WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> URL Shortening

I hope that helps. :)
