Some of my members actually pay the subscription with a check sent by snail mail.

Please How can I add them as members and specify a subscription length ?

Thanks !!

I think I've found the solution:
I add manually the member ("add a member") and I set an automatic OTO time.

Is it SO simple or did I forgot something important ?

Hi Costera,

Yes, manually adding members is as simple as using the Add a Member function and setting the EOT time. Make sure you use the correct date format in the EOT box:

If you type in a date manually, s2Member will obey the Auto-EOT Time that you've given, no matter what. In other words, you can force certain Members to expire automatically, at a time that you specify. s2Member will obey.

Valid formats for Automatic EOT Time:

mm/dd/yyyy
yyyy-mm-dd
+1 year
+2 weeks
+2 months
+10 minutes
next thursday
tomorrow
today

The "Role" drop-down menu will contain all the s2Member Levels defined in WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> Membership Levels/Labels. Simply select the correct Membership Level when adding the new member.

If you have any List Servers defined in WP Admin -> s2Member -> API / List Servers and you want the new member to be added to the correct email lists, be sure to check the box that says "Process List Servers". That way, when the new member is added, they will also be added to the List Servers that you've configured. (If you're not using any List Servers, you can ignore that checkbox.)

Thanks !

Regarding the lists, I use a french auto-responder. It's very popular here (I'm french) but it's not Aweber or Mailchimp. Do you think it's possible to integrate ir to s2member ? I have their integration code.

It may be possible to integrate with the french auto-responder using the s2Member API. Please see WP Admin -> s2Member -> API / List Servers -> Other List Server Integration Methods and the s2Member Codex.

Yes, I've seen, and I think this documentation is for "specialists".
Do you know if s2Member support can integrate this for me (s2Member pro support or/and by charging me) ?

I'll escalate this to our lead developer and see if that's possible. :)

Hi Costera. :)

WebSharks is not taking custom coding jobs at the moment, all development is being done only on s2Member to improve it fast.

If you need a developer to create this integration for you, you can post a job at jobs.wordpress.net or eLance.com or oDesk.com and get some bids on it. viewforum.php?f=37

I hope this helps.

I'm curious about this too. I had read that I could add a member with a Virtual Terminal, but it was something that was only with s2memberPro. Is the ability to add a member something in the free version too?

I have a client who may mostly deal with their customers in person and sign them up themselves at first, and I want them to be able to create a new member easily.

Do you have a video or any documentation to show how to do this?

Thank you

Hi germars,

You can manually add new members using the free version of s2Member, yes. If the member paid you offline, you can manually create their account and then manually set the EOT time so their account expires at the right time.

If you have a member who signed up for a recurring subscription outside of s2Member, you can manually add them to s2Member and provide s2Member with their PayPal Subscription ID.

Then, when s2Member receives an IPN message regarding that subscription ID (e.g., a cancellation IPN), s2Member will handle the cancellation automatically. (This assumes you've taken the necessary steps to configure s2Member with PayPal and that the subscription exists on the account you're tying to s2Member.)

However, I'm not sure how any of this relates to Virtual Terminal (which is a PayPal thing).

Hi Raam,

I browsed through the forum, and the only place I could find about adding members manually, was a question that was asked about adding them manually through virtual terminal when you were subscribed to Paypal Pro and s2member Pro. That's where this came from.

Is there a link (to a particular video, for example) you could send me to that explains how you add them yourself? You mention a subscription ID with Paypal, but if they didn't pay you with Paypal (prior to setting this up) or with a cheque, for example, what ID do you use? Can you make one up yourself?

Thanks for your help.

Hi germars,

There is not currently a video that explains this.

Adding a user manually is just like adding a WordPress user (s2Member uses the WordPress userbase).

When you add a new user, you'll see a section added to the bottom that allows you to configure s2Member-related options for that user, including the ability to select their role (i.e., their Membership Level):

If the user paid offline (e.g., not using one of the gateways listed), then you can simply leave the Gateway and Subscription ID fields blank. If the user paid with PayPal, you can select the PayPal Gateway and then add their Subscription ID, but none of that is required to add the user. (You could also use the Subscription ID field to store something else, like a check number or your own made up Subscription ID.

If their account should expire after a certain amount of time, you can make that happen by manually putting the expiration date in the Automatic EOT Time field (click the little question mark for more details).

Does that make sense?

That is brilliant, and exactly what I needed to know. thank you! It may seem obvious to you all who are familiar, and I know about general users, but I assumed the plugin would have some different place to register them.

Thanks also for the images. Big Help.
