I am using the s2Member plugin.
Free subscription is ok and also to have a premium level subscribers using paypal (Level 1).

I also need to have the possibility a way where I can let new subscribers who have a criteria level subscribe like the premium level subscribers but without paying (via paypal or other).
In other words there are three members, free subscribers who have limited viewing, paying subscribers (via paypal) who have full access and now a third kind of subscribers who hava also have full access but who do not have to pay via paypal.

Is this possible? If one has a premium level it has to be via payment. Am a bit confused.

You might wanna look at Custom Capabilities:

That should make things easier, hope this helps. :)

I can not get to the free, level 0 files. Is this the correct folder for them? Can somebody here try to get the demo zip file I have there please? This is the location: /public_html/imacrosgeek.com/wp-content/plugins/s2member-files/access-s2member-level0/twitter-free.zip This is the link to register free: http://imacrosgeek.com/wp-login.php?action=register It drops me to the Members page and asks me to join, but I already did that. Can I not test it as admin? I also tried getting a free membership and I still got dropped to Members page. . . Thank you in advance for any help you can offer! Rob :)

You can have users at Level 0 (free) and Level 1 (paid), and with the Free Registration pro-form that's available in s2Member Pro, you can have users register at Level 1 for free. Then restrict your premium content for Level 1 and those at Level 0 won't see it.

Does that help?

Thanks Cristian. I am not sure if I understood you correctly but following is the current registration and membership process.
1.Prospective member fills in registration form with specific criteria and submits it online. Form includes fields for username and password he wants to use once registered. He receives an email stating that his registration process is beging evaluated.

2. Administration team receives copy of registration and evaluates prospective member.

2a. If he qualifies under specific criteria he is notified that he is now a member and can use the username and password he submitted with his application. Administration team has a platform online where prospective member is tagged as full member.

2b. If he does not qualify under specific criteria prospective member is instructed to go to paypal page where he subscribers for a year for a nominal fee. Once payment is done adminstration team receives notification from paypal and thus administration team via the online platform tags him as a full member and informs him that he can now use the login and password provided.

Now with the above information you know exactly the process. Do I need the pro version for this? does S2Member plugin provides me with these options? Do not want to pay for something which is not included, if you understand :?

Still thanks beforehand for your attention

No, you don't need s2Member Pro, I just mentioned it because it has a free registration pro-form that could be used in special cases.

You can protect your content at Level 1. Free users don't go through an admin activation process, though, s2Member doesn't have this, they immediately have the account active at Level 0.

Users that pay with a Level 1 button you create for PayPal, after payment would immediately be set at Level 1.

If you need to manually approve the user, then put the content at a level higher than what the user is getting with the purchase or free registration, then you can review the account and manually change the role to the higher level and email him.

The manual role change would be done from the user's profile. WP Admin -> Users -> All -> Edit user -> Role

I hope that helps. :)
