"Protected" Page vs. "Posts" Page

I am trying to post my tutorials to my "protected" page but when I set that page as my default "posts" page, the page isn't protected anymore.
My problem is that I'm going to have like 50 videos on the page and it's going to get incredibly wrong. I just want a static front page with my "posts" going to the "protected" page but I can't get it to work. I HAVE to be missing something, but what?

So you want to have the home page be static and with links to your 50 protected posts with videos, right? And you want to protect the home page then or leave it open? And what did you set as your Membership Options Page?
Please show us screenshots of the setting for each of this, so we can see what you have, please. Thanks!

PicPick is a free screen capture utility that you can use to take the screenshots.
http://download.cnet.com/PicPick/3000-2 ... 72925.htmlThen just attach the images to the reply to this thread, below the edit box where it says "upload attachment".
