Adjust User Profile Field (Shortcode?) / Write Profile field

Hi

Apologies if this is obvious or I've missed something in Codex. but are there functions to allow you to adjust a user's profile via shortcode after registration?

Essentially what I want to do is have a field in the profile (hidden and unable to edit by the user) that is a check box for terms and conditions. I don't need the user to click them on registration but rather further down the line when they come to do something more advanced on the website beyond registering i.e. download some files for instance. At that stage I want to have a button that confirms the user has read some t&cs and when they click it, it automatically updates that profile field to say they've accepted, and in future when they come to download more files, there is a quick shortcode request/check to see if that field is positive (=allow file download) or negative (ask to confirm T&cs).

Maybe you can implement something like this:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15715&p=50489&

And you could go to WP Admin -> s2Member -> API / Scripting -> Member Profile Modifications and see if you can implement them together with PHP or JavaScript.

Hope this helps. :)

Hi,

Thanks for the post, but this still seems to be a test condition checking whether the profile already has a field of a particular type... I essentially want to test first and then actually write the profile field without the user physically typing it in or being aware that field exists?
