You have several subscription options for the Authorize.net pro-forms, including bi-weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, and yearly. Can I offer a bi-yearly (6 month) subscription by changing the rp variable to rp="6" ? Or is there any other way to do it?

I thing I once tried that and it worked, it can't hurt to try.
