edit_post_link not displaying

Postby steve228uk » December 6th, 2011, 10:05 am

Hi all!

I'm having some trouble with the edit_post_link not showing when one of the s2member roles is logged in. I've tried editing the role using role scoper and adding that capability but that didn't seem to do it.

Just wondered if anyone had experienced this problem?

Hi steve228uk,

Editing and Creating posts is not something s2Member currently supports in a standard WordPress installation. Please see this thread for more information about how you might be able to change this: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=16141&p=54306&hilit=security#p54368

Hi Raam,

Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately I'm not using a multi-site install so I'm not sure if that's even applicable.

That being said, do you now where the user roles in s2Member are located? I may be able to edit the capabilities manually rather than using Role Scoper or another role editor plugin.

They are with the rest of the roles. You can use a plugin like User Role Editor to modify them. https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-role-editor/

I hope it helps. :)

Hi Cristinán,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I'm using User Role Editor, and have ticked the relevant check boxes (http://cl.ly/3M0R2z3X042Z3P3v1q0D) however the edit button still does not want to show for anyone but the admin.

The user is able to publish posts from the front-end of the site using a form but later cannot come back and edit them as the button does not display.

I've decided not to allow users into the backend of WordPress to try and make things simpler for you.

I'm really not very familiar withthis, and it's not something s2Member does by deafult. I suggest you post in the WordPress forums about this, it's likeier you'll find someone more familiar with something like this there.

Here's the code article on capabilities: https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_C ... pabilities

I hope that helps. :)
