Can't activate S2Member Pro

Trying to install S2Member Pro, and continue to get error:

End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of /home/mwf113/public_html/marnafriedman.com/wp-content/plugins/s2member-pro.zip or
/home/mwf113/public_html/marnafriedman.com/wp-content/plugins/s2member-pro.zip.zip, and cannot find /home/mwf113/public_html/marnafriedman.com/wp-content/plugins/s2member-pro.zip.ZIP, period.

Tried on domain purchased for, but got error and tried on another domain. Can you explain? We followed the directions as per installation page.

Do you have the standard version installed?

What page are you using for instructions on how to install? Is it this one?: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=247

Are you doing it through WordPress or through FTP?

Yes standard is installed, and uploaded pro through WordPress on one site and FTP on the other. Got the same error message on both.

This is going on a single domain of a multisite install. How do I deactivate the multisite config? Could that be part of the problem?

What goes after the . ? I mean is it .zip, etc.

yes it was a zip

When you upload it through FTP, do you un-zip it? Or do you leave it like a .zip file?

And when you try to install it through WordPress, is the file a .zip file?

installed through FTP and then extracted it. through WordPress did regular plugin install and got error in message #5 above

The error shows the zip file with a double .zip.zip extension. Not sure why you have that, though.

Could you unzip it in your computer and make sure you have the s2member-pro directory and inside there isn't a second s2member-pro directory? You should have the plugin files and dirs in it. Then upload it to your plugins dir via FTP and check if it's showing in your WP Admin.
