One off sales

Hi There,

We use the S2 plugin as a gateway for our Video on demand service. Our main product "The North" is on Member Level1

We have two special "one off" series we want to sell on our website. My question is, if we put them on Member levels 2 and 3, then people can purchase the specials and get access to "The North" on Level1. What would the easiest way be to create a one-off member level or special one?

For selling content that is not affected by level access (level 4 can access level 1, 2, 3, 4 etc.) you can use Custom Capabilities (a.k.a. CCaps). Check this video for more information of CCaps: http://www.s2member.com/custom-capabilities-video/

That's great, thanks for that. One question. If I decide to use custom capabilities by category, do I enter the category name, slugname, or ID in the PHP code in functions.p

Are you talking about the hack suggested in the second half of the second video for Custom Capabilities? You can use is_category or any other function to get the condition you want.

Ok, think I'm getting there. I've altered my Functions.php with the following code..

Thanks Raam. Fixed that. I get an error with line 871, something causing an issue at the end of functions.php. Not really that sure what it is. Not good with PHP stuff!

Can you quadruple-check that there are no spaces at the very end of your functions.php file? There should be absolutely no spaces after the very last ?> tag. This is an extremely common problem and it trips me up all the time!

Yep, its on the last line. Just can't seem to figure it out. I have been able to use the shortcodes within posts to do what I need done. Though figuring out the functions.php hack would be best long term.
