Payment Processed on iPad but user not a paid subsriber

Hey all,
I had a customer make a payment on my site via their ipad and the payment went through (got the paypal) receipt - but the user is still a subscriber, not a paid member.
How would I go about trouble shooting this?

I should also mention that we have had normal users (using a pc) make a payment fine. I am wondering if it's a mobile device related issue?

If you have a Mac, you can enable the Develop menu in Safari (Preferences -> Advanced -> Enable develop menu in menu bar) and then go to Develop -> User Agent -> Safari iOS iPad to emulate the browser on an iPad. From there, try to complete a test transaction and see if you have the same problem.
