purchasing access by page

Postby germars » January 11th, 2012, 10:40 am

I've searched different ways, but come up with variations on using s2member with other programs.

Is it hard to set up a Paypal membership that works like this:

- 9 different pages of information.
- person can buy one page for say $30 or three for $70 and by ticking which one (or ones) they want, they can only access those pages through s2member? Is there any way to set up your membership this way?

This will be a training site, and people will want certain packages, and we want them only to have access to the ones (or pages) they have paid for.

Is there any documentation that can explain how to set this up?

Thank you, this forum is a lifeline!

Hi germars,

That's approaching on a shopping cart type functionality. s2Member is designed as a membership plugin and its primary function is that of providing membership access. However s2Member does have features (like the Buy Now Specific Page/Post feature) that lets you do things similar to a shopping cart.

You can also use an advanced feature called Custom Capabilities to reproduce the effect of a shopping cart, however it won't be as straight-forward as "checking a list of items, adding to cart, and clicking checkout".

To learn more about Custom Capabilities, please see this video: http://www.s2member.com/custom-capabilities-video/

Thanks Raam Dev

I figured it wasn't going to be straightforward, but it was the only way I could describe it. But that is a big help, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll read up on this and if I have any more questions, I'll be sure to ask!

I can put this into a secure page, can I? That won't affect any functionality of it?

What do you mean by a 'secure page'? And what are you putting in there?

the client wants the site to be a secure site (SSL) to make himself feel better. I don't think he needs it with this program, but has asked for it.

Yes, s2Member fully supports SSL.
