registration redirect not working

Postby schwein » January 16th, 2012, 3:14 pm

So I was testing my site with paypal. I did receive the confirmation email, but when I click on the link to set up registration it takes me to a generic registration page and it says this page is not found.

Background: I was going to switch to a different membership plugin, but after trying them out, I switched back. It messed up some of my pages and now the registration process is not working correctly. Do I need to reinstall s2member?

I'm very frustrated.

Thanks

Erin

P.S. The only thing I didn't like about s2member was that it sent them an email instead of redirecting them straight back to the registration page. However, I can live with it. And I want to add coupon codes, but I can do that with the Pro, correct? Also, when I upgrade to Pro, will it mess up my pages?

Thanks

Hi Erin,

With the free version of s2Member, your customers will see the standard WordPress registration page (/wp-login.php?action=register).

With the Pro version of s2Member, you can utilize the Pro-Forms feature (this does not require PayPal Pro) to have the user create their account as part of the checkout process, thereby removing the need to receive an email and register on the standard WordPress registration page.

Regarding the Page not Found problem: Where are you receiving that error? What does the URL in the address bar say when you see the Page not Found?

Coupon Codes: Yes, you can use Coupon Codes with s2Member Pro.

Upgrading to s2Member Pro: Your existing s2Member configuration will not change and you can continue using whatever buttons you generated with s2Member standard. However, if you want to utilize Coupon Codes, you will need to use the Pro-Forms feature instead of the standard PayPal checkout buttons.
