Member Login Hanging

We have a forum on our site with the Simple:Forum plugin. A user has been logging in and using the forum for a few days. Today every time she attempted to login the login would just hang up with a timer and never complete the login process. The user reset her password. When attempting to login immediately after the password reset she got a 503 error - "Too many IP addresses accessing one secure area!" Later, she attempted to login again and now gets the hang up issue again. I reset the IP Restrictions in Restriction options, but I am wondering if this is a different issue?
