Media file downloads stopped working -- How to restore?

How can I restore download capability for secure media files that just inexplicably stopped working after having worked fine for some months now?

A user recently reported to me that they were unable to download audio files from our site that they were authorized to access. I followed up by attempting to download a number of the same secure files using various browsers. Each browser I tested with displays the confirmation dialog, but only Opera actually initiated and completed the download.

I tested using browsers on Mac and PC: IE (PC only), Firefox, Safari, Opera

Any suggestions?

Could you please tell us what versions of WordPress and s2Member you're using?

As a plugin conflict test, could you deactivate other plugins one by one and test after each? See if the download is fixed after one of them.

Thanks for you response. I'm using the latest versions of both, WP 3.3.1 and s2Member Pro v111220.

Thank you, that did the trick! The problem was resolved once I deactivated the offending plugin. I've since updated the custom plugin and reactivated.

What was the in-compatible plugin? I'm trying to maintain a little list of incompatible plugins/themes/servers. Thanks!

It was a plugin I purchased from CodeCanyon named "Attention Grabber v1.4". Once I updated it to the latest version "Attention Grabber v1.5x" everything worked fine.
