Hi,

I'm testing the user signup process, but I've hit a barrier. The entire process went well, except that the user didn't get the username/password email. (Meaning, I received the test payment, I got the signup confirmation email, and the page said payment is successful. I'm also using customized username/password email) I found all the user information at the parent blog's user and usermeta table (although they are suppose to sign up at one of the child blogs, and the records do indicate that they belong to that child blog).
I'm testing the Alipay gateway with all other gateways disabled/didn't fill in any information. I'm not selling blog farms, just membership at one of my child blogs. When I purchased the license, I was told that the license would be enough for me to run on multiple child blogs. But if it's not, I can upgrade to the unlimited site license. Btw, can someone help me check what's the site currently tied to my account?

PS: Since the information is located in the parent blog's user table, does it have any implications on future actions? (I don't know, maybe having problem terminating the user, changing their roles, etc?)

Angela, what log file are those entries from? You should have more than one log file with entries. Which files are there in your s2member-logs directory? Could you post the related entries from all the log files for the test transaction?

What WordPress version are you running? One entry says v1599 and the other v7432.

Could you install this plugin to see if it logs the emails sent from your installation? http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/email-log/ Not sure if it works in multisite, though.

Let me see if I understand. You have the multisite network with s2Member installed and you want to use it in one of the child blogs to create a membership site there. You aren't sure if the Single Site license of s2Member Pro is enough for that, although you're not giving blogs to your users. Right?

Well, in this case you'd need the Unlimited Site license, because it's a multisite network. You don't need the Network Support license because you're not giving blogs to your users, but the Single Site one is not enough because it's not a single blog that s2member is running on when you use it in a multisite network.

I think this issue might be related to the Wordpress user registration process. I'll post the log details in the next reply. For some reason, the plugin you recommended didn't catch any information even though the emails (signup confirmation) came through.
One of the things I noticed is that, after completing/submitting the user form, WP brought up this yellow banner that says "Register For This Site" rather than something like registration successful. I checked in with my hosting company and they said there were no queued emails at the time.

In addition, I noticed a time lag (quite a long one) between user registration and the time when that user entry actually show up at the back end (which means I still don't see them, but I will in maybe a couple of hours).

PS: I did notice that the plugin allow me to register multiple users (I tried once when the page redirects, and once from the email, it seems to allow me to do that).

For email issues, I strongly recommend installing and and configuring the WP Mail SMTP plugin.

Many email issues are related to mail servers not accepting emails sent from your server. To fix that, you can authenticate your sent emails by manually configuring WordPress to send them using the SMTP server for the "From" address you've configured in s2Member.

If you're using a Gmail account as your "From" address, you can configure the plugin with your Gmail SMTP details so that WordPress uses Google SMTP servers to send the email. You can get the SMTP details for Gmail here: http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answ ... swer=78799

Isn't that a bit strange, to say this is a mail issue? I mean the signup confirmation email didn't have any problems, why did the user/password email have so much problem? I mean, on my other child blogs that doesn't sell membership, I've got users sign up and they got confirmation email without any problems.

Edit: I've also manually added a new user from the back end, and I got the email. No problem at all.

Edit 2: In addition, I've also tried out the plugin that you've mentioned. But I still get no email.

In your log I could find 3 entries that mention the confirmation email having been sent:

5 => 'Signup Confirmation Email sent to: "info example.com" .',

I'm not sure what could be causing your problem. Have you tried testing for plugin conflicts? Deactivate other plugins one by one and test after each, see if the problem went away with the plugin.
