Getting the sign up form to show for free level only

Postby davemason » January 21st, 2011, 1:09 am

I have been trying to figure out how to get the sign up/registration form to show up on my "Membership Options Page" Is there a short code for this? As of now I am just using an image link to the sign up page for the free account.

Thanks.....

Hello,

If you want that form available to public visitors, you'll need to enable Open Registration. See: s2Member -> General Options -> Open Registration.

If Open Registration is turned off ( it is by default ), then the only way access will be granted, is after a successful checkout has occurred through PayPal; at which time, s2Member WOULD allow access to the /register/ page, allowing the paid Customer to register one time.

I have the setting correct that you suggested. I still do not have a form on the "membership options page". Is there a short code or something else that needs to be performed?

Thank You....

I'm similarly puzzled about the implementation of this feature.

As instructed, I have enabled "Yes (allow Open Registration; Free Subscribers at Level #0)" under General Options --> Open Registration/Free Subscribers.

And I can see that under General Options --> Login/Registration Design the registration page URL provided is:
http://mydomain.com/blog/wp-login.php?action=register.

So...

Q1: I guess I'm supposed to incorporate a "Register now" link into the design of some site-wide feature (e.g. header or sidebar), with a link pointing to http://mydomain.com/blog/wp-login.php?action=register.

Q2: And to make the Registration Page compatible with the look & feel of the rest of the site, do I then have to edit http://mydomain.com/blog/wp-login.php?action=register individually?

That seems unnecessarily complex.

Or can I just drop some code into a WordPress-created page to place the form on the page?

Or am I missing the point completely?

Hi Rosie

Q1 Yes

Q2 No - If you want to customise your signup/login section adjust the settings under "S2member General options" -> "Login/Registration Design" (in mine I just added the path to my logo in the "logo image location" box - but you can change colours, fonts and add a background pic if you want)

Cheers

I have this same problem. I have it set to allow open registration and I have redirect to login welcome page locking all wp-admin areas.
But when you click the sign up button it goes to the welcome page but it is not possible to register. There is no sign up form.
