Streaming s2member protected mp3 with jplayer

Hi Folks,

I am using a virtual Linux Server. Works fine for me. But there is still one thing that should be optimized!

I want to integrate a mp3player (using jplayer), allowing s2member-levels 0-4 to listen to some exercises.
I put the mp3 files into the s2member-files/access-s2member-level0-4 directorys and I am using the
?s2member_file_download= link to protect them from unauthorized people.

Problems:
- the mp3 player does not show the lenght of the mp3
- my server is standing still, when I am clicking on a link during the play of the mp3. Looks like s2member and a mp3 jplayer stream are not working that good together, when streaming protected files :(

any Ideas?

I am having a similar issue. I would like members to be able to download the audio and also listen to it via a player...

The player will not recognize or connect to files protected by S2member. I'n not sure what to do.

Did you solve this?

- Ryan

Try flowplayer @ flowplayer.org

Don't forget to add the mp3 ext to s2m download options

Did you try Remote Header Authorization?

WP Admin -> s2Member -> Download Options -> Remote Auth / Podcasting

his can be enabled on a case-by-case basis. Just add this to the end of your download links: &s2member_file_remote=yes

Remote Header Authorization allows access to file downloads through an entirely different approach. Instead of asking the Member to log into your site through a browser, a Member will be prompted automatically, to log in through HTTP Header Authorization prompts; which is the same technique used in more traditional security systems via .htaccess files. In other words, Remote Header Authorization makes it possible for your Members to access files through remote applications that may NOT use a browser. This is often the case when a Member needs to access protected files through a software client like iTunes®; typical with podcasts.

Let me know if it helps. :)

Right now I am using another solution.
I am using the SOUNDFLOWER Audioplayer. It´s a great way to share audio in a protected way to people. Only the downloads of theses files (packed as zip) are restricted by s2member.

You can take a look at www.vocallessons-online.com if you want.
Just so to online-lessons and chose the demo.

greetings!

Thanks guys. Looking at both programs above.

Short term, I found that I had the file link within my file wrong. It needed to be:

http://www.website.com/?s2member_file_d ... lename.mp3

and I added mp3 to the "inline download" option in the Download Options settings of S2Member.

 oops....
it´s called SOUNDCLOUD !

Soundflower is a tool for Macs to record your outgoing audio signal inside your mac.
Looks like I was a little bit confused :)

I took a look at flowplayer....

looks really great. I am quite happy with my soundcloud solution for audio files, but in a few months I want to show videos as well...

Flowplayer seems to be a very nice solution!

so thx for that share :)
