s2member v3.1 and s2member pro add-on

Hey guys,

I've successfully integrated the free s2member plugin with my site.. I'd like to purchase the s2member pro add-on but I don't want to upgrade to the most recent s2member plugin version (it breaks my site, gives me an internal server error). Can someone confirm for me whether or not the most recent s2member pro add-on will work with my s2member 3.1 install? If not, is it possible to purchase the version that will?

Thanks

J.

Now, what is the Internal Server Error you're getting with the latest version of s2Member? I'd like to help you solve that. What WordPress version are you running?

Thanks for the quick response. It's the Error 500 internal server error. It's most likely an issue with my host (as indicated in posts from other users with the same issue on this forum). I've just got no patience or desire to fight with or change my host. I only need s2member for a very easy price tiering based on one function of my platform so it's better for me to use v3.1 (unless you can specify any major security risks for me).

On a side note, does the version number of the pro s2member plugin correspond with that of the free version? ie. if I've installed v3.1 free version, am I after v3.1 of the pro version? Also, the post you linked to says "Going forward, we'll be making all previous versions of s2Member Pro available, starting with s2Member Pro v1.3.2" has this been implemented? Can I pay and download the version I need today?

Thanks again!!

Great plugin, nothing really like it out there that's as dynamic as this one. Love the ability to add custom code to specific 3rd party plugin functions. That's huge!

Yeah, I really loved the potential of this plugin when I found it. :)

s2Member Pro v1.3.2 is available for download as soon as you get the license. No, version numbers are not the same, right now s2Member is 3.5.4 and Pro 1.5.4.

I understand you prefer not sorting out the error problem, but this would mean you'd be stuck at an earlier release for who knows how long, not just s2Member but also WordPress, and that could be an issue in the long run.

These may help you:

For anyone that is receiving the 500 internal server error, please send an email to support with a Dashboard login and FTP access ( if possible ). We need to see what is happening in your hosting environment, because we've been unable to reproduce it so far.

One tip Jason gave me: after upgrading to S2 3.5.2 via FTP, I still was getting an error. Jason attributed it to an old file in the S2 folder. He told me to delete the S2 folder and the S2Pro folder and then reinstall the latest release. That did the trick and my site is error free now!
