You can upload the screenshots to your server and just send their URLs in the email.

By the way, could you also provide the s2Member log entries for the transactions that get the error? (x'ing out any private info) /wp-content/plugins/s2member-logs/

Cristian I too am not able to attach the screenshots. Is there any other way of sending you this? It seems like in one of the replies above Jason had said there was a step we could not do and that he was working on a video on how to do it am I mistaken? Thanks

Sorry did not see your answer but did you review what I was implying above per Jason's Reply in one of the above replies? Here is the message I am referring to before we go into all the hassle of hosting images and creating links and sending them to you.

Re: S2 Member Pro

"Postby Jason Caldwell » April 7th, 2011, 10:09 pm
OK. This is my fault. I told Cristián this was possible, but it's NOT. So sorry.

You CANNOT just link directly to the s2Member Thank-You Page for ClickBank:

Code: Select all
http://example.com/?s2member_pro_clickbank_return=1

This will cause errors, because s2Member expects to receive POST Vars from ClickBank immediately after checkout. In other words, it does not expect access from a direct link. So this explains the trouble you're having. Again, it's my fault for saying it was possible; it's NOT possible in the current release, only in the development release of s2Member v3.5.8 ( coming soon )."

Got it. He hasn't done a ClickBank integration video yet, sorry about that. Regarding the post you quoted, that's correct, if you link to the s2Member thank-you page for ClickBank for anywhere other than the ClickBank setting for the thank-you page URL, you'll get an error. This is because the thank-you page expects some data that ClickBank sends via POST when loading that URL, and this isn't present if you just load the page from elsewhere. Where did you use the thank-you page URL? Does that explanation help understand what may be happening for you?

So you are saying to use the thank you page url provided by s2memberon the actual Click Bank thank you page? But the url itself does not work. Even when I copy and paste the generated url to a browser it does not work so how will it work if just posted directly onto the click bank thank you page. I had it as a link on my thank you page and below the link I have the entire s2member url incase they are not able to to click on the link but none of them works. I am going to privately email you the link that has the error message.

OK, email it to me using the contact form.

About where the URL goes:

Copy the URL s2Member provides here WP Admin -> s2Member -> ClickBank Options -> Thank You Page and paste in your ClickBank account, for your product's thank-you page URL.

That URL will only work when ClickBank sends the person there after a purchase, so you can run a test purchase using the credit card details ClickBank gives you for testing purposes.

Cristian I am really having challenges with this. Click bank once you create a recurring product, they do not allow you to go back and edit the the "thank you page url". They allow you to do it in other products but not recurring product like membership. They told me I have to create a new product request all over again and they have to approve it. Now if for any reason the s2mmember return thank you url does not work when they test it will not be accepted and they will have me redo it all over again. This will also affect the product id number that I already have out there and I will have to deactivate it and create a new id. This will have a conflict with the existing members who paid through click bank using current id but I added them to my membership manually.

I know from above Jason had said that the s2m thank you url will work with our own click bank thank you page with the new version of s2m. I sent you an email yesterday with all the details but haven't seen a reply. My question is, has this been tested with the new version? Does the new s2m version work with the new wp version 3.2? If it works how do I upgrade my s2member on wp admin dashboard or I have to download the new version and upload it to my server all over again? Pls let me know what I can do to resolve this. Thanks a lot.

Lisa, I understand your concern. I have a ClickBank product myself, with s2Member installed in a 3.2 WordPress blog. I just went to my CB account, generated a new test card and purchased the product, it all went just fine. My product is not recurring billing, just one-time payment, but I don't think that's a problem. Your problem should be sorted soon, it's just a configuration thing which we'll figure out.

I haven't received your emails yet, I'm sorry, don't know what the problem is. I'm going to email you so you reply to that with the screenshot... Sent.

- Have you tried purchasing the product with the test card?
- Did you double check that all the keys values you entered in s2Member were the correct ones from ClickBank?
- Did you double check that the thank-you URL you entered in ClickBank was the correct one from s2Member? The one with the URL to your WP with ?s2member_pro_clickbank_return=1 at the end.

Whatever the case click bank will not allow changes to existing products that have a recurring billing ONLY to one time pay products. So I created a test drive product of the same with different ID and did a test purchase twice with different email. This time no error message on thank you page and all went well. But when I logged into the site I was still being redirected to the pay page. I then received welcome email with my username and passwords on both emails and each time I logged in I was still redirected to purchase the products. A clickbank test purchase should work like the real one. I checked on my users to see if the two accounts upgraded to s2m level 1 but an hour later it still hasn't. So right now I am totally confused. The s2m return url i am using is the correct one. Nothing is wrong with the url. It has my site first then followed by ?s2member_pro_clickbank_return=1

Everything else is entered right. I am just stuck at this point

Could you please show me the log entries for those transactions? x'ing out any private info. /wp-content/plugins/s2member-logs/

If you don't have the log there, you probably had not enabled logging. Enable it and then run the test purchases again so they get logged. WP Admin -> s2Member -> ClickBank Options -> ClickBank Account Details -> Enable Logging Routines

On this option I already have it as yes

"s can be generated at ClickBank®. Check your ClickBank® account for this information.
Enable Logging Routines?
* This setting applies universally. [ ? ]
No Yes, enable debugging, with API, IPN & Return Page logging.
This enables API, IPN and Return Page logging. The log files are stored here:
/home/content/31/7623131/html/wp-content/plugins/s2member-logs"

On the above the Yes Option is selected. It has always been selected since March so I did not make any changes. Not sure that is what you are talking about. My fear is if I create a new product all over and the test purchase is not even working then I will end up with the same problem and click bank will not even approve it if they are not able to access my site using the test purchase.

I am not sure how else to email you. The Email I sent yesterday seems like it did not go anywhere since you did not receive it. I am not able to email you on this forum either. I am hoping there has to be some kind of technical support email or number where we can get help. See I have two other products I am selling using s2mmeber and they work fine. The only problem I am having is with the membership. As far as configuring everything btw s2m and click bank I can tell you I entered everything right ONLY thing I had done is put the s2m thank you page url as a link on my own thank you page since Jason had said I could do that. Now I am trying to opt out of this and use the same url directly on the click bank thank you page which means like I said create a new product all over with a different id. Have done that but test purchase has failed me twice with the link on the actual thank you page per your recommendation. Now I have the product waiting and have not even asked for approval which takes about 5 business days because I still cannot get it to work even with the link directly added.

Can you give me directions maybe on how to update the s2m to the new plugin? I had asked whether the new version is compatible with the new wp 3.2 and also if I can update in the wp admin or there are other ways .. that is the only thing I have not done I still have the previous version which either way should still work. I also have not received your email that you said you sent above.

Lisa, I emailed you earlier to the address you used here in the forum, from my email address so you could reply there. Send me the screenshots of the WP Admin -> s2Member -> ClickBank Options panels. Also, please, send me screenshots of your ClickBank Admin -> Account Settings -> My Account, My Site and My Products pages.

Cristian I sent everything you have asked to send. I sent all the screenshots 5 of them from click bank to you via email, I also sent you all my screenshots from s2m now I feel like you want me to start all over again. I feel like I am going in circles with this and not getting anywhere. Surely its been since March. Like JG above I too am wondering what the above quote is all about since I already sent you all the details. I already sent you the s2m thank you page return url and other logs details that you asked. I have sent you all my click bank configuration including thank you page. Honestly this is getting under my skin a little bit. I appreciate your help but I think you need to go back and read all our conversations above so you know what you asked and what was sent. I know you work with lots of people but I think if a customer has an ongoing problem for over 4 months then it should be addressed instead of us going in circles.

Thanks.

By the way the two emails I sent you using the contact form you said you never got them so I am using the webshark inc. email. You sent me that email and requested to just use that to communicate with you. That is where I sent the first set of my s2m screenshots which you confirmed were all right then you asked for the click bank account which I sent 5 screenshot on July 9 and that is what I am waiting for the reply. Maybe Jason might know the answer to this problem since it looks like there are a few people here having the same issues.

Thank you for the screenshots, Lisa. I noticed something that may be causing trouble. The ClickBank Developer API/Key that you entered in the field for it in the s2Member panel, is lacking the DEV- prefix that the one ClickBank provided you with has.

In your screenshots I don't see that you sent me the ClickBank Clerk/API Key field (right above the Dev key), which I'm guessing may be lacking the prefix too (API- in this case) if you copied it the same way. WP Admin -> s2Member -> ClickBank Options -> ClickBank Account Details

I didn't get the screenshot with the ClickBank IPN/Secret Key either. WP Admin -> s2Member -> ClickBank Options -> ClickBank IPN v2.1 Integration and ClickBank Admin -> Account Settings -> My Site -> Advanced Tools -> Secret Key

Could you please send those so I review and compare them to make sure they are correct? Thanks!

Re: S2 Member Pro

Postby lisakimms » July 13th, 2011, 11:47 am

Hello Cristian: I did exactly that 3 times and in all 3 it failed. I got the thank you page saying an email will be sent in a about 15 minutes. The email never came through just like it was happening before. The only email I got was the click bank purchase email . I have used every email address I have to do these tests and I have even created new gmail accounts for this but nothing is working. However, I am receiving the emails to welcome me to network marketing community which goes out to all level 0 subscribers. When I log into the community right after the purchase I still cannot access the information still being redirected to the sign up page.

I have another subscription with the free s2m that I use for pay pal and with that one I have NO problem. The minute they pay they are immediately directed to to site they log in and instantly they are able to see the information they could not see before and I have never have a problem with that one. It is not a membership though it is a one time pay for product access.

With this s2m pro its beyond my understanding because it has taken over 4 months now for us to get this resolved. I still believe Jason knows the answer to this because he did attempt back in April to explain about the thank you page return url and he is the one who said to link it to my own personal page and that even if members get an error message make sure to indicate on the thank you page that they will receive an email welcoming them to the site. Now when I did exactly that and ran two test purchases, I got to the error page when I clicked the link on thank you page but being that Jason had said that I worked my way around that error message and signed on the membership which actually gave me access. I am still listed on my site as a paying member twice from those tests.

The problem is members don't have the patience to figure out how to work an error page right after they have paid and most of them panic when they see that. Now that I have done everything you recommended I have deleted cookies etc to make sure all is well but it has failed. What else do I do? Jason C. had said he was releasing a video soon about that if you read one of his responses above from April. Do you know if the video have been released. Do you know of any member in the community that has a monthly subscription membership with click bank. Not one time purchase but monthly membership? Maybe this question can be posted somewhere else and see if any of the members can help.

As far as sending you the logs not sure how. Only screen shot I can send is under users where the 3 tests I did are all listed as level 0 subscriber.

I can understand your frustration.

I have set up a membership through ClickBank and my tests have worked, but I haven't gone live with it yet. But I click the button, pay over at ClickBank, get taken back to my website to create an account, and create it. I'm still not sure what is causing the problem for your...

Could you send me the ClickBank logs s2Member creates? You must first have logging enabled here WP Admin -> s2Member -> ClickBank Options -> ClickBank Account Details -> Enable Logging Routines. Then run your test purchase and in this directory /wp-content/plugins/s2member-logs/ you'll find these logs: clickbank-ipn.log, clickbank-rtn.log, paypal-ipn.log and paypal-rtn.log. Please send me those files.

Also, I'd like to try a test purchase in your website to see what happens. If you could, generate a new test credit card in ClickBank and send me the details in the same email, please. And what's the URL where the purchase button is?

Thanks for the email, Lisa. I think I figured out what your problem is. I got an error after the first test purchase, but the second one was successful, let me explain:

Your ClickBank buttons in the salespage have a variable hardcoded in the URL to update an existing account with ID 1, your admin account most probably. This will always fail because you can't modify the admin account, and other users would have another ID anyway so their accounts would not be upgraded.

http://3.xxxxxxxx.pay.clickbank.net/?s2_invoice=1&s2_p1=0+D&s2_p3=1+M&s2_desc=One+Time+Membership+Registration+Of+%2467.99%3A+Monthly+membership+at+29.99&s2_custom=site3.com&s2_subscr_id=s2-1309884391&s2_updating=1

ERROR: Unable to modify Subscription. Please contact Support for assistance.

The existing User ID is associated with an Administrator. Stopping here. Otherwise, an Administrator could lose access. Please make sure that you are NOT logged in as an Administrator while testing.

Now, I got the ClickBank receipt email after each purchase, but I couldn't have found the registration page easily from an email because that email has another website for the vendor. So I'm purchasing from salespage in Site 1, CB email has vendor with Site 2 and membership is actually in Site 3, so it can be confusing to someone trying to figure out where he's supposed to go.

The membership site, seems to have free registrations enabled WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> Open Registration. So if someone didn't complete the purchase correctly (the account part after the checkout), without getting the right cookies set for him with the access he paid, but managed to get to the registration form, he'd be able to create an account without the paid access he'd expect.

Also, if I create a free account and click on a link to a page that's for paid members, I get taken to the Membership Options Page. Now, this page is in another website, not the membership site, but the one mentioned in the ClickBank receipt email.

So both salespages aren't where s2Member is. You can't hope to know the existing user's ID because you're not where it'd be known. And you're not using the shortcode for the button because s2Member isn't there, I'm guessing you used it first and copied the output HTML, which is why it has a time and your ID hardcoded instead of them changing dynamically.

After I removed the &s2_updating=1 part of the URL, I was able to complete checkout, got a success message and was taken to the registration after clicking OK.

Thank you! Your account has been approved.
The next step is to Register a Username.

Please click OK to Register now.

So, generate a new button shortcode if you'll have it where s2Member is installed. This way, if the person is logged in to an existing account, the button will have his ID and his account will be upgraded.

If you'll use it somewhere else, please use the full code that also gets generated for the button and change the IP address part from S2MEMBER_CURRENT_USER_IP to $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] (if you don't have this IP address part, you need to update your s2Member and s2Member Pro because that was added some versions ago). Doing it this way you can't have an existing user update his account, though, it just works to create new accounts.

I hope this resolves your problem. :)
