S2 Member Pro

I am currently using the free S2 Member that works well with pay pal. I want to promote my membership site with Clickbank so I can set up affiliates accounts. The problem is If people sign up using clickbank then the s2 member will not pick them up as paid members and I would have to do everything manually every month.
My question is if I upgrade to the Pro, would I be able to use clickbank instead of pay pal and does it work the same way as with pay pal? The problem with me using pay pal right now is that I can Only do membership with no affiliates.
Thanks.

Hello,
s2Member has been integrated with
ClickBank® for Direct Payments and also for Recurring Billing. In order to take advantage of this integration, you will need to have a Merchant Account. Once you have an account, all of the details below can generated from inside of your
ClickBank® Merchant account.
ClickBank® uses buttons.
Very simple. All you do is customize the form fields provided, for each Membership Level that you plan to offer. Then press (Generate Button Code). These special ClickBank® Buttons are customized to work with s2Member seamlessly. Member accounts will be activated instantly, in an automated fashion.
When you, or a Member, cancels their Membership, or fails to make payments on time, s2Member will automatically terminate their Membership privileges. s2Member makes extensive use of the ClickBank® IPN service. s2Member receives updates from ClickBank® behind-the-scene. *
Once you've generated your Button, copy/paste it into your Membership Options Page.

Ok good to hear that but am a little confused. I have checked throughout my clickbank but I do not see anywhere that I can intergrate the s2 member. On my blog, the s2member only option I have is pay pal. I called click bank support to see where in my account I need to do this and the support guy had no clue what I was talking about. I already have an account with clickbank. Are you saying I need to configure everything inside of clickbank or is there a different s2member that I need to get that has clickbank info added. Do I have to upgrade to S2Member Pro to get this info? Sorry am just a little confused. Thanks.

Hi Lisa.
Once you have s2Member Pro, go to
WP Admin -> s2Member -> Other Gateways, check
ClickBank, click the save button and refresh the page.
Now you'll see a couple of ClickBank entries in the s2Member navigation on the left:
Clickbank Options and
ClickBank Buttons. Each one has documentation that will guide you through the set up process.
I hope that makes it simpler for you.

Cristian, I bought the s2member pro and for the life of me I cannot get it to work. Installations seems to be very simple. I uploaded it to my ftp wp -content under plugins where I already had the free version. Nothing happened. Tried to install it again and it said already installed so I left it alone. Went to my dashboard and I cannot see the changes or "Other gateways" per instructions. What exactly should I be looking for? I have rebooted and logged back in but I still have the free version. Any idea? Thanks.

Oh by the way I did not upload this to my ftp since it says not to:
Other Downloads Available To You
•s2Member Pro Extras ( s2m-pro-extras.zip ) — misc scripts, misc API docs for Payment Gateways, etc.
The "extras" should NOT to be installed into WordPress®. This zip file just contains additional code samples and API docs for Payment Gateways integrated with s2Member. These extra files may be useful to developers integrating s2Member for their clients in creative ways.

OK, so you uploaded the
s2member-pro folder to the
plugins directory, right? Then it should automatically add its functionality to s2Member. Go to
WP Admin -> Plugins and below the s2Member plugin description you should see the s2Member Pro module mentioned.
Version 3.5.7 + Pro Module v1.5.7 | By PriMoThemes.com / WebSharks, Inc. | Visit plugin site
Now, to activate the additional gateways go to
WP Admin -> s2Member -> Other Gateways, check the boxes of the ones you want, click the save button and refresh the page. Now you should have the new active gateways in your s2Member nagivation in the left sidebar.
Does that solve your problem?

Thanks Cristian yes that did and I got it updated. I however stumbled onto a problem while configuring my click bank info. I got all the steps set right but two of them:
1. ClickBank® IPN v2.1 / Instant Payment Notifications ( required ): On this step I set up the secret key and provided it to s2member BUT I had no idea what to do with this: (You'll need your IPN v2.1 URL, which is:) I see the url provided but what should I do with that url or where in clickbank should it go?
2. ClickBank® Thank You Page Integration ( required ) Now I have already set up a clickbank Thank you page for my customers which was already approved by clickbank and its listed on my account so once customers pay they get to that page which gives them a set of instructions. With the s2member it looks like they want me to change and divert to (You'll need the URL for your Thank You Page, which is:) and of course the url is provided. Where should I put that url? and also does that mean it will replace the Thank You Page I already have active within my click bank account right now?
Those are the two urls that I have no idea what to do with But after putting all the other info, I generated the code and put it on my membership page and when I click on it it works okey and goes to my click bank sales page.. the question is: Will s2member know to give the paying client access to the content on the page since the above two steps are not configured?
I hope my two questions are clear. Thanks

Great! We're making progress.
In your
WP Admin -> s2Member -> ClickBank Options -> ClickBank Account Details, where it says "You'll need your IPN v2.1 URL, which is:" select the URL that's right after that and copy it.
Now go to ClickBank, log in to your account and go to
Account Settings -> My Site -> Advanced Tools, and in the field for it paste the URL you copied a moment ago.
Now copy the
Secret Key ClickBank provides you with, and paste it in the field for it in the s2Member panel you were at earlier.
Now about the URL for the thank-you page that s2Member gives you, you don't have to use it in the ClickBank settings for your product forcefully. You can keep the one you had approved by them already, that's perfectly fine.
What I suggest is that you use the URL s2Member gives you, in a link at the end of your current thank-you page. Does that make sense?
Let me know if you're unclear about anything and I'll try to make it simpler.

Thanks Cristian:
So I got one of the step down that is adding the s2member thank you page url to my click bank thank you page. I have that added but when I click on the link, I get the following error message:
1. " Error: Unable to verify POST vars. Please contact support for assistance. This is most likely related to an invalid clickbankA configuration. If you are the site owner please check:
s2member->
ClickbankA Options."
After the error message when I click ok then I am redirected to my log in page. So clearly something is not right or I did something wrong. I tried to copy the url directly to a different browser and I got the same message.
2. As far as this: "Now go to ClickBank, log in to your account and go to Account Settings -> My Site -> Advanced Tools, and in the field for it paste the URL you copied a moment ago. " Like I said I have already set up the secret key and put it back to my s2member field in the wp dashboard. The problem I am having is locating the field in click bank to enter the url given by s2member . When I click on Advanced tool editor I have the field for my secret key. Below that field it says "Instant Notification URL: (request access)" There is no field next to it. If I double click on request access, it opens a page with a set of questions that I need to answer yes or no and then terms and policy then after that I am supposed to submit an approval request to click bank by "save changes and request API access" I did not do it since I am not sure it is right. Per your instructions above and even in s2member click bank options, it appears like once I click on advanced tools I should be able to see both fields one for secret key and another for the url. Right now unless I try to follow the above instructions I have just outlined about requesting approval from click bank, I do not see any other field for my IPN v2.1 URL. Appreciate your help. Thanks

I'm sorry, I did my own ClickBank set up months ago, I forgot you'd be required to request the access to that service.
Yes, request it so it gets enabled, or you won't get it. They'll probably ask if you know what you're doing, I kinda remember something like that: yes you do, that's intended for the developer and Jason did a good job with the implementation in s2Member.
Regarding the link for the thank-you page, you can comment it out for now and try it again after the above setup is finally complete to see if that solves it. If you still get the POST vars error, let me know.

Ok here is an update of what I have done in case someone has the same question:
1. The IPN v2.1 URL field in click bank I could not locate: I followed Cristian instructions: You automatically do not see the field once you click on Advanced tools in clickbank. You only see the Secret Key field. So you generate a secret key all in uppercase and save it then of course put that key to your wp dashboard area under your s2member options. Then copy the IPN v2.1 URL and go back to click bank. On the same place where you have the secret key, right below it says: " "Instant Notification URL: (request access)" You will want to click on "Request Access: It then opens up a page with a bunch of questions asking you whether you understand what each step mean. You must say yes. If you say no they will not approve it. If you are not so techie like me, you will have no clue what those questions mean but then you can trust the S2member developers as they have done all the work. So just answer yes to all the questions, accept to the terms and policy. Then click "Save changes and request API Access" Right away the field for your IPN v2.1 URL appears and Voila !! You just paste the link in there and save.
My other problem was with the Click Bank thank you page: Thanks to Cristian the answer is simple if you already have a click bank thank you page. Just link the s2mber thank you page url somewhere on your existing click bank thank you page that way the customer gets to the actual thank you page with whatever instructions you have and your contacts info etc.. and when they click on the Link to go to your member site or access your products, It is an actual link provided by s2member so everything is all configured.
Now on this stage I am still getting an error message when I click on the link on the thank you page even though I know I linked it right. So I decided to do a test purchase which is very easy to do with click bank. I used a different email to register on my own membership site as a level zero subscriber. Then I clicked on membership page to join did the whole test purchase and on thank you page, I clicked on the link to access my site but I got an error message. Clicked ok on it and was directed to the my page to log in. I used the same credentials I had created at level zero and despite the error message I was able to get access to the site's entire content at that point so it worked. On my site I only have Level one. About 10 minutes later I received an email saying " Thank you! You've been updated to:
One Time Membership Registration Of $67.99: Monthly membership at 29.99
Please log back in now to
http://www.....etc. "
So, I am all set just have to figure out why the Thank you page has a POST Vars error message but at least members are able to purchase and get access to the product.
Thanks Cristian for all your support.

OK. This is my fault. I told Cristián this was possible, but it's NOT. So sorry. You CANNOT just link directly to the s2Member Thank-You Page for ClickBank:
- Code: Select all
http://example.com/?s2member_pro_clickbank_return=1
This will cause errors, because s2Member expects to receive POST Vars from ClickBank immediately after checkout. In other words, it does not expect access from a direct link. So this explains the trouble you're having. Again, it's my fault for saying it was possible; it's NOT possible in the current release, only in the development release of s2Member v3.5.8 ( coming soon ).That being said, what is true, is that you don't need to use s2Member's Thank-You Page for ClickBank integration. If you already have a Thank-You Page of your own, please feel free to use that instead. This is fine, because s2Member also communicates with ClickBank silently behind-the-scene, through ClickBank IPN communication. So your Customer is never left out in the cold. They'll always receive an email confirmation with further instruction.
You can customize this email from your Dashboard, under:
s2Member -> ClickBank Options -> Signup Email Confirmation.

And you can also add at the end of your thank-you page that he'll be getting an email with the instructions.

Thank you guys that helps me understand. I will change it then to just leave the original link. As it is now customers are able to join despite the error messages but surely no one want an error message after they make a payment so I will remove the link. Thanks so much for all your support. Let us know when the video is available.
Peace

Hello: Its been a while since I posted here. But I realized the above problem still exist. I finally opened my membership site and despite the fact that I personally tested it and managed to go around the "thank you page error message" my few members that have signed up are not. I have had 4 people signed up and none of them was able to get pass through the thank you page. My s2member retrun url is not working and once they get the error message page they just x out of that page and leave me an email. On my click bank account, I see their payment but on my site, they are not listed as level one members. I am going to add them manually but this is clearly going to be impossible very soon. I just went to my own thank you page and got the same error message See error below
"ERROR: Unable to verify POST vars. Please contact Support for assistance.
This is most likely related to an invalid ClickBank® configuration. If you are the site owner, please check: s2Member -> ClickBank® Options."
What do I do to correct this? Please review my previous questions above.
Thanks

Cristian how can I email you the link privately? It is the url generated from Click Bank thank you page on s2 member but I prefer to send it privately. I believe if you read the previous notes Jason was trying to explain the error message but I am totally lost with this now since I have new people signing now and non of them is getting pass the thank you page. Have to add them manually. There has to be a way around this especially that I have the Pro membership

Does anyone in this forum use S2Member Pro with Click Bank? If so how do you have your Thank you page configured? Please I desparately need help. The return url I generated for click bank thank you page on my s2member pro is not working and this has been an issue since March but I did not pay so much attention because I have been adding content to the site. Now I have the site open for members to sign and I realized they all are running into the same problem.
"ERROR: Unable to verify POST vars. Please contact Support for assistance.
This is most likely related to an invalid ClickBank® configuration. If you are the site owner, please check: s2Member -> ClickBank® Options."
You can see my previous questions since March above. I am really getting into a panic mood since I have the money and have to manually guard the site and click bank to add them mannually.. I waited for a reply all day today.
Appreciate anyone who could help me.
Thanks
