Confirmation e-mail not sent

Postby ayoungren » April 1st, 2011, 6:34 pm

I've just upgraded to PayPal Website Payments Pro with S2Member Pro. Its a great plug-in, thanks for all of the work. I've done a couple of registrations, but I'm not receiving the confirmation email with password or activation link. What do you suggest?

thanks,
Andrew

I'm having precisely the same issue using CCBill as the payment processor. Everything appears to work, but the signup confirmation email never gets delivered (not even to the Spam box). I'm glad (sorta) that I'm not the only one!

Hi guys. Let me see if I can help.

One thing to test first is: can your server send mail using PHP's mail() function? If not, that is your problem.

Do you have logging enabled? WP Admin -> s2Member -> [gateway] Options -> [gateway] Account Details -> Enable Logging Routines. Check your logs to see if you can spot there what's wrong.

Make sure IPN reporting is ON in your gateway account and use the URL found at WP Admin -> s2Member -> [gateway] Options -> IPN Integration for it.

I would also suggest opening your IPN URL in a web browser. You should get a white screen. Nothing, nada, just an empty page. If you get something other than an empty page, please report back.

If nothing works, try disabling other plugins, until you find the culprit. Something in your installation could be causing the URL to be invalid.

Or you have PHP errors somewhere in another plugin perhaps? Check your error logs too.

Cristián,

I dont quite understand what this means. WP Admin -> s2Member -> [gateway] Options -> [gateway] Account Details -> Enable Logging Routines. What do you mean by [gateway]? and am I supposed to be looking at the s2 member plugin on my dashboard? I'm new at this, so I'm a bit confused.

Second, some of the members are getting the email and others are not.

Thank you

Gateway would be PayPal or ccBill, I was trying not to duplicate the path to find the settings for each one, just used a [gateway] placeholder. Sorry for not being more clear.

WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal Options -> PayPal Account Details -> Enable Logging Routines
WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal Options -> IPN Integration

WP Admin -> s2Member -> ccBill Options -> ccBill Account Details -> Enable Logging Routines
WP Admin -> s2Member -> ccBill Options -> ccBill IPN / Bg Post Integration

Got it that some get the email and some not. Could you enable logging and then post the log entries for the transactions that didn't get the email? You'll find the logs under /wp-content/plugins/s2member-logs/.
