Half of Mailchimp confirmation emails missing

I am having a related issue and this topic seemed most similar.

There are 2 issues I am having:
1-Only 50% of subscribers are receiving the Confirmation email from MailChimp. Which means that only half of the subscribers that register on my site through the PayPal Pro / Free Registration Form in s2Member are added to MailChimp through the api.
2-Registrants are able to access the site with out confirmation. Meaning after completing the free trial form users can instantly access the restricted pages on my site. I want them to complete the email confirmation (so that I can verify the legitimation of the email address provided) prior to them being able to access my site.

Any help, work around, or alternative suggestion is greatly appreciated. I am fine with dropping the double-confirm all together if there is an alternative way to confirm the email address.

Hi! I'm very glad you're enjoying s2Member.

Regarding your 2nd question, the confirmation email sent by MailChimp is independent of the access s2Member provides. The member may have completed the s2Member steps required and thus be able to gain access, even if the MailChimp subscription is not confirmed.

Regarding the missing subscribers in your MailChimp list, are they not there at all or are they just pending confirmation?

Because they don't receive the 'Confirmation Email' they are not added to the MailChimp database. I have confirmed through testing multiple accounts that the email doesn't go to spam. All users are receiving the default WP username/password email but not the MailChimp. All users that complete the s2Member free trial form ARE added to WP. However because they are not receiving Confirmation email my marketing list (MailChimp) is incomplete.

Hmm... Have you checked your logs to see if you spot anything odd with the connection to MailChimp?

Also, doesn't MailChimp have a list of people that were added but haven't confirmed? There must be a place where that can be checked.

Have you noticed anything in common betwee the people that were sent the email successfully and anything in common between the ones that weren't?
