Can't FTP files to the plugins/s2member-files

I try to FTP some PPTs up to this directory and it keeps booting me out somehow.

Each post on our site will have an accompanying PPT slide for single sale.
Will I have to FTP all these PPTs to the plugins/s2member-files directory with every new post?
Is there any easier way of achieving this?

Thanks
GB

Fire FTP (through FF)

Get this error

553 Could not create file.
: /home/---path---/wp-content/plugins/s2member-files/somepowerpoint.ppt

It appears user is set differently for this directory than the other ones created on the server (was created as part of s2member install process).

It sounds like you're logging in via FTP with a Username that is less-capable than your server is. In other words, your server has greater permissions than you do. Thus, a folder that your WordPress installation gave 777 permissions to, is not available to you when logging in via FTP.

One solution you might try, is to grab a file manager plugin, so you won't have to use FTP at all. I don't use these plugins myself, but here is one that I've seen running on a few client sites lately: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/myftp/
