[Feature Request] s2members Pro

A good way to get people to upgrade to s2members Pro is to include features that people want to use to customize their registration, profile editing, member management functions.

By default, Wordpress does not include a great user management system. Since you already have a foundation with which to work, you could work to improve the user management experience by offering features and functions that "fix" these deficiencies. While for the average user, they might seem trivial, to someone who is looking to create a membership site, pay or no-pay, it is a great boon.

You should look at custom registration fields, add a function to allow them to create as many custom user fields as they want and allow them to choose the type (single-line,multi-line,drop-down,select,radio,etc) and then you could allow them to edit the information that gets sent out via email for new members (welcome, welcome with password, lost password, unsubscribe, expiring subscription, etc) these options would make the Pro version very attractive if they have all these options to improve the normal membership experience.

These are just some idea, you could look at some of the question people have posted and decide to include those as Pro version features too, for future version of your script. Just an idea...

I second these requests. I would love to have the ability to create checkboxes and such as extra registration fields. It would also be nice to have members not listed under 'users',but a separate menu item in teh admin area called 'members'.

Other requests:
- Maybe an option to send an e-mail (without using MailChimp or AWeber) to certain members by selecting a number of members.
- I'm not too sure about the members import end export functionality of the Pro version (haven't tried it yet, but depending on how solid the export functionality is, I want to buy a Pro version real soon). Does the export function have the possibility to also export the custom fields? If so, I will certainly buy the Pro version for a project I just quoted (if they actually give me the job).

Yes, I totally agree with you. This is coming VERY soon.
Please have a look at this thread. @TODO-COPY :: Custom Fields.

Yes, s2Member Pro supports the Import/Export of Custom Fields as well. In fact, this feature was just recently improved upon in the latest release of s2Member Pro v1.2.

Thanks for these great suggestions Henry.
~ We are definitely going to address most, if not all of these requests in the next major release.

I second Henry's request. If I may add:

I would like to add the ability to add member social links, rss feed ( from another blog or member blog ), weblinks, etc.. & index those on a member page in a list gallery view for all members. This helps bring together community collaboration and other members to learn what other members are up to and involved in, of course stepping it up with "privacy options" too.

I'm in the middle of creating a plugin called Social-Author & an add-on called Follow-Author I'll upload a screen shot here. I would Jason C. to integrate this into s2 or just take it and add it as part of the infrastructure of s2 for everyone to use. I don't mind I just want to use it period on multiple applications.
