After a user selects to check out with paypal, it takes them to palpal.com to login and complete registration. I thought everything could be done on the site?

We have s2member pro, business account, website payments pro, recurring billing, etc..

Thanks for any ideas.

Hi there. Thanks for the great question.

You are correct, but I can see where this might be confusing.
s2Member Pro integrates with PayPal® Pro, which is just like ( actually better ) than having your own merchant account & gateway with something like an Authorize.net. I say "actually better", because with PayPal Pro ... you have the ability to accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Amex, Maestro, and Solo cards directly on your site, via s2Member Pro. Customers will NOT leave your site with transactions using one of these popular credit cards.

Now, in addition to this (on-site) integration,
with PayPal® Pro you can ALSO accept PayPal® too.

This is why selecting "PayPal" as your Billing Method results in a redirection to PayPal. This is the intended behavior. With s2Member Pro, you can accept credit cards on-site, and/or PayPal as well, using an advanced method of integration called "Express Checkout".

This VIDEO may help to clarify a bit further:

All of this is already built into the s2Member Pro software. So all you do is supply your PayPal® Pro API credentials and paste in the Shortcodes provided by s2Member Pro.

If you want to be specific about which Billing Methods you accept, you can pass a special attribute into your Shortcode ( accept="" ). List all of the Billing Methods you want to accept. Here is an example: accept="paypal, visa, mastercard, amex, discover".

At a minimum, you must always accept PayPal®. s2Member Pro will NOT allow you to exclude PayPal® from the list. This is a PayPal® policy, and a strict requirement for using PayPal® Pro to process credit cards on-site. Which is a good idea anyway, because many Customers "prefer" to pay with PayPal®.
