Home Page Protected, Shouldn't Be

I have just installed s2Member and plan to use it as a customer portal. I followed the video Jason posted and it works well except for one problem.

When I go to the root of my site (www.mysite.com) as a non registered user, it says that it is protected and then directs to my Membership Options Page. My site is setup so that the wordpress reading settings make a static page my front page. This page is called "Home". I have checked that in my home page that I am not setting any page level restrictions nor am I requiring custom capabilities. As far as I understand, this page should not be protected.

The strange behavior is that if I go directly to www.mysite.com/home, I am able to see the page without any problems. But if I look at the permalink on the page "Home", it is set to www.mysite.com. I'm not sure why the plugin is protecting the root of my site, but not the direct link to the page. Very strange behavior indeed.

Sorry if I missed an obvious answer to this question. Please point me in the right direction if I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, quite strange. Did you check the S2Member General settings? But still, there may be an error because I've got a static page too and when I try to access www.mysite.com/home, it automatically redirects to www.mysite.com, which doesn't seem to happen on your side.

Thanks for reporting this important issue guys.

This is a known issue. It's not exactly a bug, but we are going to try and improve upon this in a future release. Until then, I highly recommend this troubleshooting video, which talks specifically about this issue. http://www.s2member.com/content-restric ... ble-video/
