Login no longer sticking on frontend

When I log into wordpress (as admin), it works fine in the backend....but when I go to the front end it no longer acknowledges I'm logged in. I noticed it when I tried checking out a restricted page today. It will just redirect me. I thought perhaps the installation was corrupted, so I uninstalled s2Member, and reinstalled it while in maintenance mode just in case. But it still doesn't acknowledge me as logged in.

I did try again in different browsers and noticed that IE will acknowledge me as logged in but Chrome, and Firefox do not. My main browser is Firefox.

Thanks for reporting this.

Based on your report, it sounds like it *might* be one these things:

1. You have a caching plugin installed? ( and it's not behaving? )
2. You're accessing your admin panel over HTTPS, or on a different sub-domain than your main site is loading up on? If so, this can cause confusion, because cookies are only read ( for you ) on the Dashboard, and NOT on the front-end; because it's running on a different protocol, or on a different sub-domain ( i.e. with or without the www. prefix ).

Ah thanks.

It seems as if it was the www that was the issue. The backend didn't have the www, but the frontend did. I fixed it in WordPress' general settings and everything works good again.

Thanks again for the super fast reply.
