Need a Simple Format

I am new to word press and I have to admit that this forum is overwhelming.

What I am trying to create is a membership form/application with payment acceptance for a little museum to allow people to "join" the museum for an annual basis. We have about 4 levels of membership and each has their own cost.

The museum members don't need an online community password; they simply need to give us their personal info, indicate a membership (or support) level and a payment that reflects what their membership form indicated they were for the year. There is no need for profiles, locked pages or the similar fancy things. It would be nice to send them a thank you email and then make sure they did not leave the website.

So far, I can find everything, but something simple that I can use. The membership plug-ins seem to require the “members” to create passwords and ID’s – certainly not anything useful for our needs. I thought about putting a form on a page that requires the information I need for “joining” the museum and then drop a PayPal button on the page. However, then I would have to coordinate payments with the form information and that seems like extra work and has the opportunity for folks to skip the payment part if I am not diligent.

Will this s2Member plug-in work for what I need in a way that I can install it and not have to worry about all the bells and whistles?
Thanks.

If you don't require an account to be created, you can just have a PayPal donate button which has nothing to do with your blog. If you want that to be related in any way with the blog, the user will need an account there.

You can try the free version of s2Member and see if it works for your need. You can also watch some videos to get more familiar with s2Member. http://www.s2member.com/videos/

I hope that helps. :)
