Membership Level Roles

Postby maryr » June 3rd, 2011, 5:44 am

I have 3 membership levels created. However, none of these levels give the subscriber the ability to create a post - using Author roles. How would I include specific role to people who register and still maintain unique levels in s2Member?
Thanks.

You'd need to user a plugin like User Role Editor and combine that with s2Member, e.g. edit an s2Member Level to be able to create a post. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-role-editor/

Thank you - that works great - question. if i've already created my paypal buttons and they are on the page, and i just installed the new plugin to manage the role, is it necessary to re-generate the paypal button to get that new information in the button?

does this make sense?!

thanks.

Only if the button has attributes that need to be updated. You can generate them again or edit the shortcode by hand.

I regenerated the button and compared the html to the new paypal code and it was the same. So i left it alone. I created a new user, was sent to paypal, took my money, told i'd get an email with my password, but nothing came. Should i assume that the new plugin wants me to recreate all my paypal buttons?

If i don't get the email - something, somewhere is wrong with s2Member, right?

sorry for the inane questions, i'm just trying to wrap my brain around all this new to me stuff.

Thank you!

No, the new plugin should not affect that. Could you please post the log entries for those test transactions? They should be here if you have logging enabled in s2Member: /wp-content/plugins/s2member-logs/

I guess you had not enabled logging then. Please do and run the test purchase again. WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal Options -> PayPal Account Details -> Enable Logging Routines
