(BBPress Integration) Cookie S2 Member conflict

The S2 Member login page goes to an empty page although redirect is in place and it functioned fine before. It says that another cookie is in conflict.

Could this be the BBPress integration cookie I put in place after S2 Member was already in place?
Or some other cookie?

If so: how to correct this situation?

Thanks

s2Member has not been tested with bbPress yet. If anyone else has experience with this combination, please feel free to chime in. As for cookie conflicts, I doubt it. However, just to be certain, make sure you don't have any cookies that are named:

  • s2member_subscr_id
  • s2member_custom
  • s2member_level
These cookies hold encrypted data ( temporarily ) during registration, and then they're removed forever.

thanks for your reply Jason.

What else could cause it to go to an empty page instead of the defined welcome page in S2Member?

I also have the BuddyPress Wlecome Pack installed which sends an email on signon. Are there any known conflicts with this?

When I click "Register" (link=http://www.mysite.com/blog/wp-login.php?action=register) I'm redirected to the homepage of the blog instead

When I login with an existing name, the page remains stuck on http://www.mysite.com/blog/wp-login.php but the screen is empty

Again: it worked before.

Either something is in conflict or perhaps a hack(?)

Your plugin is perhaps the best/ most valuable I've seen sofar for WP.

It would be a shame if it didn't work.

No, there are not any known conflicts.
s2Member v3.0 has been tested with BuddyPress + Welcome Pack.
Everything looks good.

Try clearing all your cookies, close all browser windows and try again. It sounds like this issue is related to the bbPress Integration plugin. I've just run tests with s2Member v3.0 + bbPress Integration and it seems fine. Please report back if you can. It's also possible that you have another plugin doing something strange with authentication cookies. If you disable bbPress Integration, does everything work as expected?

~ Just updating this thread.

s2Member v3.2.3+ includes a bbPress Bridge integration module.
From your Dashboard, see: s2Member -> API Bridges -> bbPress

This may have been answered hundreds of times in other posts, but has the cached redirects been solved?

I'm seeing them in IE (all versions) where after logging out of bbpress (integrated with wordpress and s2 integration) the redirected target page keeps coming up with subsequent visits to <url>/bbpress

Only a cache clear fixes this

Thanks for your inquiry.
An issue regarding cached redirection was corrected in the release of s2Member v110604. However, support for the bbPress Bridge is deprecated, in favor of bbPress v2.0+, which now integrates as a plugin for WordPress instead of a stand-alone application. See: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress/
