Custom Reg Field - 'invitation code' for Reg

My question is, since I can set up custom fields at registration, is there a way to specify that 1 field equals a predetermined value? We were going to use Pie Register but it's so buggy, then I found your plugin which works wonderful!
I am setting this up for a dance studio who has free registration for their students so they can access 'classified' studio information, but we want to make sure that people who are not associated with the studio do not register. In so doing, we are setting up an 'invitation' code that they need to enter to have their registration accepted.
I have the required field in the registration but have no idea how to ensure it checks to make sure it equals our predetermined code.
Any feedback on this is greatly appreciated! If you have answered this somewhere already, you can just direct me to that post as well.
