Disable s2Member Plugin Fails can't access Home page

I've attempted to disable the s2Member plugin but receive the following error message:
Warning: unlink(C:\xampp\htdocs\wp-content\plugins\s2Member-logs/.) [function-unlink]: Permission denied in C:\xampp\htdocs\wp-content\plugins\s2member\includes\functions\activate-deactivate.inc.php on line 304
I had to do a quick screen capture just as I clicked "Deactivate" in order to see this error as it flashed on the screen and went away. It message appears twice in the screen cap.
Deactivating and deleting the files leave me with the Login Welcome Page as my home page.

Determined "Redirection" plugin partial cause of Login Welcome Page remaining as Home page after disabling s2Member plugin. Unable to determine previous error message root cause.
