I have been working with WP for 5 years and have always used permalinks.

Now S2 is requiring a category id and I feel really dumb asking "where do I find that?"
Can I still use permalinks?

Please help - can anybody tell me where to get the Category Id?

I want to limit access by category.

Under posts -> Categories, mouse over their names in the list. In your browser status bar, at the bottom, it should have &cat_ID=(number) at the end of the URL. That number is the category ID. You could click on each one and see that in the URL, but hovering over their names is quicker :p

This is a little user interface flaw of Wordpress, IMO, they should have it listed along with slug, descriptions, posts, etc..

You can still use permalinks, as far as I know.

Totally agree. I'll see if we can make this easier in the next release of s2Member. It would be nice if the WP developers would add this into the core.
