I am a bit surprised this feature is not in this plugin at all...seems obvious that one should be able to prune tags and categories when a post is updated/created.

Is this feature going to be in any time soon??!?

I agree, I think that this app needs an ability to prune tags when updating the site. I second your request - urgent!!!
