Post / Page confirmation e-mail slow and sporadic

Good Evening,

We are selling access to a specific page through google checkout. The checkout process is seamless and gives you the final google checkout screen to access the page along with the e-mail receipt from google checkout.

However, the confirmation email that is sent from S2 is extremely slow and sometimes sporadic in time frame of when it finally reaches the inbox. This has been tested by several users and the same results for everyone.

I checked the log file and everything seems to be be running fine on the IPN side.

What other areas can be checked to see if this is something on S2 which is lagging, or could this be a function of the tinyurl creation.

It may be the TinyURL service, or even your server.

Hi Cristian,

How would we check to see if tinyurl is having an issue generating links. I tracked it back to when we did the upgrade to S2. Did anything change that would cause this?

An update here...

When I do get the e-mail, it is timestamped at the time of purchase, so that rules out the tinyurl. Then I receive the email sometimes 40 mins later.

I'm currently checking with rackspace on the version of php they are running. Could that have an effect on this. My previous version s2 ran like a champ, so the only other thing I can think of is the php version needing to be updated on the server.

If it's stamped at the time of the purchase, then that's the time when it was sent, which probably rules out your server as well.

Could it be a problem with the network, on your side or the email account you're receiving the email at? Why don't you also try other email accounts with different providers to see if they all have the same delay to receive it?
