s2meber Pro Multisite User Networking

Postby theone » April 24th, 2011, 6:23 pm

I'm trying to grant my users their acquired access level throughout my entire WPMU network. However, I have not been able to successfully achieve this (despite s2members claim to support it).

NOTE - I have run (and re-run) all the patches in the Multisite config menu and I am running version 3.5.8. User accounts are not still creating shared access levels across the network. I am running the latest version of Wordpress as well and have never upgraded either one (fresh installs from newest versions).

After installing the patches I am still directed to wp-login.php. I had to manually remove some // characters in the code in order to be re-directed to wp-signup.php. (I don't think it's patching the files properly?).

It says that you have to use wp-signup.php to pool the users. However, when I goto wp-signup.php it says that "registration has been disabled" (even though I have enabled open registration enabled on s2m).

How do I enable the registration for wp-signup.php? Obviously, Wordpress registration option is being overridden by s2member. But, my s2member is set-up for open registration. It clearly states "Registration has been disabled" when I goto wp-signup.php.

Please help!!!!

Sorry for any confusion. This is NOT the case ( yet ).
Please see this thread: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2962&p=9380&hilit=separate+instance#p9275

How do I enable the registration for wp-signup.php?

The /wp-signup.php file is only used whenever you are running a Blog Farm ( i.e. your Members are also going to become Child Blog Owners ). Otherwise, you can use the Standard Login/Registration system. Or, if you're running s2Member Pro, use a Pro Form Shortcode, supplied by s2Member Pro.

Please NOTE: Due to the many complexities involved with Multisite Blog Farming, and the number of potential security issues that are involved with a Multisite Blog Farm installation, we ONLY provide support to Blog Farms that purchase our Network Support Package, as detailed here: http://www.s2member.com/prices/

Our Network Support Package comes with full documentation on how to use s2Member in a Mulitisite environment, detailed instructions for running s2Member ( and s2Member Pro ) with a Multisite Blog Farm, a list of best practices, free installation by our staff, as well as ongoing support & troubleshooting assistance. Coupon Code: SAVE-10 saves you 10% off the purchase of a Network Support Package.

Thanks for the info! Though, its certainly not what I wanted to hear.

I was so close to being done with this project too! I thought I was in the clear until I hit the access level issue.

I guess I will be abandoning this WPMU install. And after all that work...... (sigh).
