Sent to Membership Options Page from home page

Hey there, I'm having the same issue. All users who are not registered get redirected to the Member Options Page from the home page URL... I don't have any restrictions set on Posts, Pages, Tags, or Categories, and there is no Alternative View Protection on (set to "None"). Is there some restriction I'm missing? My home page is supposed to just display my current posts...help?

None of the restriction settings are set (categories, tags, posts, pages, URIs, or Alternative views). Yet, somehow, users who are not logged in get automatically redirected to the Member Options Page whenever they try to access the home page (mysite.com). They can then proceed to access other pages and posts but I do not understand why they are being redirected when there are not any restrictions set on content.

OK, I'm sorry the video didn't help.

Tell me, did you have that problem since the moment you activated the plugin or did it start happening later after you worked with it some time?

Have you tried disabling the other plugins, cleaning the browser's cache, and try again to see if the problem persists? How about trying with the default theme (TwentyTen), does it do it too?

Thank you for your post but this does not solve the problem. From what I can see, there are not any restrictive settings turned on at all, so I do not understand why the home page seems to be restricted and therefore redirecting. Would you like an admin name and password to check the settings for yourself?

Again, the issue is that there are no restrictions turned on in the first place, NOT that there is a setting that is wrong.

Yes, it is weird that you'd have an access restriction problem with no access restrictions having been configured.

OK, so you didn't set anything up yet? Then you wouldn't lose anything deactivating s2Member, right? If so, disable Deactivation Safeguards in the General Options page (you'll lose anything in the database related to s2Member, but if I understand correctly you don't have anything yet) and re-install the plugin.

Alright I figured out the problem... The problem is this: Whatever page members are supposed to be redirected to when they log in, apparently CANNOT be viewable by default. I had this option (under Login Welcome Page) set to my home page and therefore it was redirecting users to the Member Options Page.

This might be a good idea to mention in the tutorial videos. The video mentioned that the Member Options Page would always be available to all users but I don't think it mentioned that the Login Welcome Page automatically CANNOT be available to non-members.

Ah, I'm glad you sorted it out and thanks for sharing what you found!

I'm sorry I had not understood you had set your Home page as the Login Welcome Page. I'm pretty sure the Restriction Problems video talks about it, and the General Options one I think mentions that the LWP will always be protected. I'll have to re-watch them to be sure. Thanks for pointing it out.
