Blank page comes, when somebody registers on the website

Hello fellows/admin/helpers,

First of all I just wanted to mention that "S2Member" plugin rocks.. Keep up the good work..

I am a new user to this website and also to the world of WORDPRESS.. I am not a programmer (just a bit knowledge of HTML), but I can very well handle the WORDPRESS site from ADMIN SECTION.. Or if advised, hopefully I can edit..!

I have a website of our company, developed in WordPress 3.0.3.. We are currently using S2Member... The thing I want to know/ask is:

Whenever a user fills in the form to register on our website and when they PRESS "Register" button.. They are redirected to a blank page.. They are not even sent a notification or username/password to their e-mail address they provided while filling the form...

Please advise.. Can they receive a notification e-mail that they are successfully registered? And I want some kind of page instead of blank page when they register..

Hi Mohsin.

We're very glad you're enjoying s2Member! Thanks for the nice words.

About your problem, that isn't the normal behavior. I suggest that you update your WordPress to the latest version, make sure you have the latest s2Member release (remember to enable deactivation safeguards WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> Deactivation Safeguards), and try again.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply..!

1) I am now backing up (downloading all files) from the website first and then will update to WordPress version 3.1.2... May be a stupid thought, but I hope that updating will not effect any previous things on website?

2) I have also enabled "Deactivation Safeguards" as you mentioned.. and when I pressed "Save Changes", I saw a Note at the top of screen, that is below:
NOTE: s2Member security restrictions will NOT be enforced until you've configured a Membership Options Page. See: s2Member -> General Options -> Membership Options Page.

Again I hope that this enabled "Deactivation Safeguards" option won't affect on any of earlier settings too S2Member levels will remain intact... Subscribers are not capable to enter the member's area..

1) Where can I get the "latest s2Member release" ?? if you can give me the link, that would be great..

2) Once I get the latest release, all the PAYPAL etc information will remain intact?

Yes, backing up first is definitely a good idea always.

The message you got was because you had not configured the Membership Options Page yet, but that's independent of the Deactivation Safeguards, which you can check after having refreshed the General Options page to see if they're enabled, which would mean the setting was saved.

I have updated to wordpress version 3.1.2... And I have also updated the S2Meber as you have mentioned above.. Thanks..

I have just tested the REGISTRATION FORM by making a TEST USER ID but, I am still having a few things:

1) Still there is "A blank page" after when NEW USER fills in the registration form and press Register.. There is only "Done" written in the Explorer's bottom bar.. and in the ADDRESS BAR the below link comes:
http://sitename/wp-login.php?action=register

2) And again, I did not received any Registration Confirmation E-mail..

Lastly: I have come to know that; Whenever a NEW USER registers on our website, He/She needs an approval from the admin?? Is this a built in option? or can I edit these settings?

You're very welcome.

No, that is not usual behavior either. Do you have other plugins installed? Try disabling them all and register an account, see if it works properly. Then add the plugins one by one, creating a new account after each and see when the problem returns.

I just de-activated almost 12 plugins and tried registering.. And It worked.. Now I can see the page "Registration complete. Please log in." and also it notified me through e-mail

I'm glad you found the problem!

I don't know the plugin. Why did you have it in the first place? Anyway, you should study more about it, decide if you really need/want it and if so, talk with them so they update it to work correctly with the latest WordPress.

Well actually we got our website developed from some people.. They added this plugin.. Well it is just for a newsletter thing.. I don't think we need it..

Lastly: We will hopefully upgrade to the S2Member pro very soon..! And I will for sure contact you again for the guidance, if I find any trouble dealing with it
