Send members to a members edit page rather than Login page

Postby rainbowsurfer » May 25th, 2011, 3:03 am

Hi there
I've created a page for members to change their details and changed the Member Profile Modifications to yes. However when they click the edit my profile they are taken to the Login Welcom Page. Is there a way for them to be redirected automatically to the members page that I created?

Could it be that they weren't logged in when they tried to go to profile modification page you created, so they log in and this causes them to be sent to the Login Welcome Page? They would only get sent to the Login Welcome Page right after logging in.

Also, did you protect in any way the profile modification page?

Any other detail you can give about the problem will help us understand it to help you better.

Hi Cristian

Thanks for getting back.

Maybe I've set something up incorrectly. To set up the members edit page I just put the - s2Member-Profile - shortcode into a page and published it with no page protection.

However I haven't put a link to that page on any other pages as I thought when a member clicked the Edit My Profile on the wordpress admin bar. They would be taken to that members edit page.

But what happens is even when a member is logged in they are taken to the Login Page. Have I missed a step out in setting up the members edit page.

That's odd.

Did you read the documentation here? WP Admin -> s2Member -> API / Scripting -> Member Profile Modifications

Yes I did read that.

I some how need to change the link on the Edit My Profile tab, because when I hover over the link it shows it's linked to the Login Welcome Page.

Is there a way to change the link on the Edit My Profile tab to have it point to the page I created?

Thanks

I see. How did you create the tab?

Hi Cristian
I didn't create the tab it's the one automatically created by Wordpress in the admin bar.

Not to worry though, I'm just going to put the s2Member-Profile - shortcode in the Login Welcome page and re-name that page, Members page.

Thanks for your help and time with this

Ah, I see, that sounds like a good solution. :)
