Find Users by First/Second Name or email, not Username

Sometimes I need to do changes on the user, and currently with 200 users, that is still doable, but the more users, the worse it gets -- the search function by wordpress only allows to search for the username, not email address (this would be the most important), first name or second name.

Is there any way to do this (and please don't tell me to look in the database itself... well do tell me if its the only way out of this misery).

Without this, it is really impossible to find a specific user, if you or he does not know his username... (and don't tell me that I should tell the user to go via username lost password recovery route, just so that I can enter the username to change stuff).

I tried the search box in the Users page and found a user searching for the email address. WP Admin -> Users

s2Member Pro has user Import and Export tools that make possible bulk edits to the user accounts. WP Admin -> s2Member -> Import / Export

Well that's strange. So I think I'll have to find out why it doesn't work for me. But can you search for first name, second name?

I just tried searching for the first or last names and I didn't get results for them.

Thanks, the members list plugins helps. I did not need to create a list, because it makes it possible to search for first name / last name via the normal Users window. Should maybe added to recommended Plugins that add needed functionality (like the php extension plugins).

Hi, I'm also having the same problem (at least I think it's related). Within my WP Admin > Users page, I can search for members by email address, however if I type in "John" I get nothing. How can I search by Member Name within my WordPress Admin Dashboard?

Yes, I saw this plugin reference as well. Is this for the WP Admin area, or just creates a random page of my choosing? Seems odd that a basic search feature like 'Name' would be bypassed as a search option within main WP Dashboard.

Would anyone know of a s2member hook/filter to tap into which would include 'first_name' and 'last_name' within the main search? This is for a client who will most likely be confused by having to Edit a record in one place, and Search for a member in another.

It seems you create a post with this plugin and that post will have every user by first name, last name, username, description etc. Since it's a post users can see it as well.
