Newbie - solution to speed up site?

Postby creativeforge » November 5th, 2010, 1:35 pm

Hi,

We're in the middle of implementing S2Member Pro (single site), and I've been looking for answers regarding how to setup S2member so the site isn't taking soooooo long to refresh when I make edits. The refresh time is between 5 and 25 seconds each time... That shouldn't be, right?

Site is here: http://www.iamsignificant.ca

We are using the Genesis framework with the Platinum child theme.

Now I am using W3 Total Cache and it was flying the first day. Now it's terribly slow.

We have these plugins installed AND activated too:

Blubrry PowerPress
Booking Calendar
Booking Manager
Clean-Contact
Event Calendar
Exclude Pages from Navigation
Fluency Admin
Google XML Sitemaps
My Page Order
Post Types Order
s2Member
Video widget
W3 Total Cache
WordPress.com Stats

There are no inactive plugins.

Could anyone help diagnose and fix the issue?

Regards,

Andre

Well, I'll be investigating the error log on my hosting server and will report back here when I have answers. Strange code I don't understand:

no-debug-non-zts-20060613/pdo.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0

So I best check this out first.

Cheers,

Andre

Hi...

I was searching for something else and came across your post.

I don't know that it will help much but I did find that running the cache while doing lots of updating did slow my situation down so I temporarily disabled it...

Hi,

We have since moved to Wishlist for various reasons. I agree - as you mentioned, it's not wise to run a cache (caching static pages) when editing the site. For everything else, installing WP Cache has also helped a lot.

Thanks!
