Blocking pages on subdomain WPMU

Postby ffemtkl » June 29th, 2011, 2:37 pm

I am in the process of converting my WordPress installation to MU, but had some questions.

1) Can/how do I block an entire subdomain (i.e. support.example.com) to only logged in users with a specific access level?

2) cen/how do I block a folder on a subdomain (support.example.com/documentation) to logged in user with a specific access level?

NOTE: I have no plans on using multifarm/blog farm, just using MU to create some subdomains for a corporate site.

Thanks,

Kalman

You could block the subdomain a few different ways. You might check out the thread posted at http://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1201 as they already hashed out most of them. The most common would be to activate S2Member on the subdomains and restrict access to Pages, Posts, Categories, and Tags within the settings to require a level of 1 (or higher based on your needs).

Alternative would be to use the advanced S2 Conditionals within the template you are using for the sub-domain that redirects the user back to the main site if they are not the correct registered userlevel.
