I have the same question ... really need to create dropdown fields for demographic questions and I need these fields to show up as dropdowns on:

- Register page
- Edit profile page
- Edit user page in wp-admin

No, this is not possible yet. In s2Member v3.2 our focus was mainly on Multisite Networking support. However, we have big plans for s2Member's Custom Fields, and now that we've jumped over the Multisite hurdle, you can expect to see this feature added in the very near future.

We intend to take an approach that is similar to what BuddyPress uses in it's Profile Field Configuration panel. We may even improve upon this a bit. Until this feature is implemented, the only way to integrate drop-downs, select boxes, etc... is to use Hooks/Filters for s2Member; or use s2Member in combination with BuddyPress.

Thanks Jason. Is there an ETA for this? We are in dire need ;)

and can you give us an idea of how to use BuddyPress or Hooks in order to accomplish this in the meantime?

I can't give a fixed release date yet.
But I would expect to see this sometime within the next two weeks. So long as no major bugs are reported between now and then, we should have full support for all sorts of options with respect to Custom Fields.

We're not only going to cover the ability to use drop-downs, select boxes, radios, check boxes, etc... but we are also going to build in support for different Fields at different Levels.

Completed with the release of s2Member v3.2.7.

Coming soon guys. ~ It has to be well-tested first.
There are MANY people using this plugin for high-end sites, so we owe them thorough testing.

Thanks for your patience guys.
s2Member v3.2.7 was released last week and includes MANY new features related to Custom Fields.
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/s2member/

* Custom Fields ( new features ). s2Member is now equipped with a VERY powerful set of features; designed to extend the functionality of Custom Fields. s2Member now supports Text Fields ( single/multi-line ), Checkboxes ( single/multi-option ), Radio Buttons ( single/multi-option ), and Dropdowns ( single/multi-option ).

In addition, with s2Member it is now possible to configure Custom Fields differently for each Membership Level. Other tools: including Validation Formats and Visibility are also available. For full details, check your Dashboard under: `s2Member -> General Options -> Custom Fields`.

* Attn Developers ( before upgrading ). Hooks/Filters ( e.g. those related to Custom Fields ) have been modified in ways that may break custom scripts you've created to work with previous versions of s2Member. We suggest dropping all of your Hooks/Filters related to Custom Fields. Instead, use the NEW improved tools w/s2Member v3.2.7+. Please see: `s2Member -> General Options -> Custom Fields`.

While there is no date selection field yet, there IS support for Text Fields with date validation. For further details and to see all of the new features for yourself, please install s2Member v3.2.7+ and navigate to:

This is wonderful....Thank for you updating this Jason. Just another food for thought...Might be worth adding to the "Form Field Type: " fields that allow you to create a start form, heading, end form. Allow the form to be broken down into sections. I have a lot of information that I would like to break down easier into sections. Maybe this can be a feature that you get when you purchase the pro ;-) I just purchased it ;-)

Just a thought.

Thanks.
