Specific Calendar Dates for Membership

Postby Wendell » July 20th, 2011, 10:47 pm

Hi,

Before I dive in head first and purchase S2Member Pro, I have a couple of questions to see if it can do what I need it to do. I did already read through the common problems/questions area and searched the forum extensively, but cannot find answers to my questions.

I am building a website in Wordpress for a not-for-profit organization. They collect dues for 3 different levels of membership (got that covered). However, the membership term is specifically from July 1 through June 30 for everyone. So, if I purchase a membership right now, it will end on June 30, 2012. From what I understand, S2Member would actually go 365 days from the date membership was paid for, which is not what I want.

To further complicate matters, if a member signs-up within a couple of months prior to the end of the current membership term, they get those last two months free in addition to the next following year through June 30.

Anyway, I'm happy to answer any questions if I didn't explain this very well. I'm hoping to get a positive answer so I can actually purchase S2Member for use with my organization.

Thank you.

Hi Wendell.

Funny, there was someone else that asked about a similar situation, with July to June years. viewtopic.php?f=4&p=13439#p13408

You can have variable shortcode attributes to adjust the time you're selling the person depending on the conditions you mentioned. viewtopic.php?f=36&t=1604

You'd use PHP for that, so you will need a plugin like Exec PHP. https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/exec-php/

You will need to use the date/time PHP functions to do the calculations for the conditions. http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.datetime.php

This thread may be helpful too: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3066

I hope that helps. :)
