Upgrading Subscription Problems With Paypal's 20% Rule

I'm having a pretty big problem.

My members currently pay £4.95 a month to access level 1 on my site.

I have decided to offer a yearly option for £44.

Now I haven't launched this yet as I can't offer current Level 1 members the upgrade to yearly payments as Paypal only let you increase a recurring payment by 20%!

I've tried a modification button and it let's users go through the process but if they click 'Save' to save the new profile, they get the 20% error message.

I don't think it's an option I can actually offer now as it's not very fair to only offer a yearly option to NEW members. I need to be fair to existing, loyal customers too.

Any idea?

I use Paypal Standard Payments, but wonder if this is something that pro and pro forms could solve?

Correct, s2Member Pro solves the 20% limitation replacing the existing recurring profile with a new one when using the Billing Modification Pro-Form. Here's a thread where Jason explains it viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2566&hilit=20%25+rule

This feature is available with s2Member Pro Forms.
You can generate a Billing Modification Form, which allows a Member to upgrade/downgrade. In the routine that s2Member processes, the existing Recurring Profile is terminated, and a new one is created to take its place. Thereby avoiding this limitation all together. This also works with Express Checkout, so you don't even NEED to have a PayPal Pro account for this to work.

The issue remains with PayPal Standard integration though.
Awaiting resolution from PayPal.

I'll only add that with Express Checkout the user will be required to have a PayPal account, but he already is for subscriptions in PayPal Standard anyway.

I just dropped Jason and email but I'll ask this question here too.

I use Buddypress on my site and I also use the Buddypress profile data ALL OVER my site in various areas.

As long as I include all of the same fields that are currently on my default Buddypress registration page, then I am not going to have to change anything on the site am I?

I mean, S2Member doesn't store or process the BP custom registration fields in any different ways to the default BP registration page?

I need the upgrade to pro forms to be as seamless as possible that all!
