Can't see content at Level 0

Can you help me figure out why I can't see content at level 0?

I have restricted only certain post categories and I am using a test account with a 0 level access. That user can not see the content in the dropdown menu nav. It is a free account that

Could you post a link to a page protected at Level 0? Did you double check that the test account was at Level 0 (Subscriber)?

I've been working on this. And it could be because of some integration issues (or plain user set up errors!) between Buddypress and s2.

I think I got it figured out. I think. I'm trying with other login names.

Could you also help me with the following?

1. I am using the s2 login widget right now and hiding the Wordpress/Buddypress bar along the top. When I select the signup link it takes me to the default Buddypress login page and not the s2 member page. How do I get that page to show? I would prefer to use that page.

2. Also the Activate page is defaulting to a full width page with all the widgets doing strange things. Where do I go to edit or change that page?

Thanks so so much.

1. You can change it in the widget's settings.

2. Which is the Activate page?

Very helpful. I appreciate it.

1. For the widget settings, what do I use instead of %%automatic%% ?

2. The Activate page is the page I am taken to when I click on the email link to activate my account.

1. The URL to the page you want users to register from.

2. I see, what plugin are you using for that?

1. See here: http://community-montessori.org/wp-logi ... F&reauth=1
When I click on Register it takes me to the Buddypress form. I want the s2member form. I don't know why it automatically goes to the the Buddypress default form. How do I make the s2member form be the one that shows up.

2. a. I'm not using anything that I know of. What I am doing is setting up s2 so that it sends members an email to activate their account. When they click on the link it takes them to a page link that is generated by s2. Here's what the link looked like: http://community-montessori.org/activat ... 2c69e62cd9. Where do I go to edit or change the page?

2. b. Is there a way to not send the activation key right away? Can I set things up to send a key after an admin has approved the member?

I so appreciate your help with all this!

Hey sorry to jump on your thread but I'm getting the same issue as your issue where the user is taken to the wordpress (buddypress) registration form rather than the s2member registration form.

I'm not too sure if this is a huge issue yet though because they can still register however it just concerned me as it was different to your video tutorials. So eager to see what could be causing this.

The only thing I would be worried about is if this means that s2m doesn't track user payments and doesn't increase the users access level (from 0 to 1) once the user makes payment.

Thanks,
Ben

Could you show me a screenshot of your Custom Registration Options panel? Particularly the bottom part. WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> Custom Registration Fields/Options

This is not s2Member related, I don't know what you tell you about it. Maybe BuddyPress'?

The user's account is still created in WordPress and that's what s2Member deals with. The s2member Level is determined by the user's WP role. The payment is done in the gateway and correctly integrated/configured, it'll notify s2Member and s2Member will set the account at the right Level. You can run a test and confirm that it works as it should.

This helps tell me it is another plugin that I can disable or adjust. Thanks.

With the free version of s2Member, if you have BuddyPress installed, you MUST use the BuddyPress registration system, because BuddyPress redirects all requests to the Standard Registration System ( i.e. /wp-login.php?action=register ), to the BuddyPress registration system, usually: /register/. This is fine though, s2Member will still work behind-the-scene in the exact same way. Also, in the latest releases of s2Member, you can integrate your s2Member-configured Custom Registration Fields into the BuddyPress registration system ( optional ).

With s2Member Pro installed, combined with PayPal Pro Forms, or Pro Forms for Authorize.Net, you have the option of handling registration with an s2Member Pro Form, instead of with BuddyPress, if you like ( optional). In all cases, s2Member will be fully capable of setting the proper Level/Capabilities during registration, because s2Member's integration is with the WordPress core.

Jason,
This is helpful. So, I have Pro installed but do not need to process anyone through Paypal just yet. Does it mean that I just need to use the Buddypress form? Because that appears to be what is happening.

How do I integrate the Custom Registration Fields as you mention? Right now I appear to have only the Buddypress fields showing in the User profile. I had wanted to have access to the s2Pro fields and form. And related profile.

And, if there is some other way to access anything better than the default Wordpress User profile? ( I seem to remember one of your videos mentioning something like that.)

Thanks so much.

(ps. I have some other questions but they are different topics so I will post a different thread. Thanks.)

Yes, that's what I would do in your case.

For details regarding Custom Field integration with BuddyPress, please see this thread:
